E90 330d LCI

So the news is in...

Here is the before and after dyno on my car:

Gaining 50wkw and 170nm with a map only is remarkable. I am truly happy with the results.

Would love to wedge this thing in under my bonnet, and surprise a few N54s.

Bud I ended up moving companies in September and what was supposed to take 4 weeks took 2.5 months.

But everything at the new company is much better so I'll be fine in the new year, paying that R20k for the cats this month so once that is sorted I'll get the remap done.

There’s a guy in Pretoria with a 40d motor in an F20 1-series. It’s been modded as well.

He is aiming for 320kw and 850nm now.

Around 1.7 bar IIRC. Diesels boost quite a bit higher than petrol motors.

Oh then that is impressive...my car is boosting @1.6 bar and only made 227/704 @tw...but I guess is day & dyno dependant...and that's with a full exhaust and 335i cooler...many happy smoke machine miles bud.

Depends on a few other things as well. Boost, timing, fueling....

I’ve got no idea what my car is boosting, so that is just a thumb suck figure from what I have heard.

227kw and 704nm is really great power and I’m sure she pulls like a train!

In the new year I will look for an N54 cooler and fit that together with a DP and that will be that as far as “tuning” goes.

Thats Gary's cab. Owner of grease monkey centurion. Hes making around 290kw at the moment. That 1 series is MAD

I can only imagine how strong that thing must pull.

Traction will obviously be non-existent, so I assume he is running semis all the time?

Im very impressed with your dyno numbers. I have a E90 330d LCI auto. I've done software and emptied the cats. I done software at Motronix. Stock on that dyno the car made 211 whp and 510nm. After the tune, it made 256whp and 600nm. Ran the car at ODI and did 13.8s @ 167 km/h on the quarter mile and 214 on the 1km.
Im just curious how those numbers on the dyno compare to yours and how much variation there are on dynos? It will be interesting to see what speeds you run.

Dynos do differ quite a bit, but I opted for KAR as most people I spoke to recommended I go there. At the end of the day I wanted to see how much I gained, so any dyno would have worked.

I ended up gaining 50wkw (67hp) and 168nm, which is all I really wanted to know.

I don’t intend on running the car on a strip much (if ever).

Depending on where you are located we can arrange to meet and possibly see how the cars compare. I’d be keen to see as well.
