Thanks guys!

@Sankekur
Yeah, I hooked up the bixenon flap, to my "brights" connection.
So when I haven't got the Xenon's on, then its just the halogen bright's that come on.
When the Xenon's are on, the flap opens up, and its %$^*%ing daylight in front of me! :=):

Cool good to know, bixenons are a must :grin:

Just so anyone's interested, I took some pictures of the brightness.

Here's a pic of just the halogen brights on:

And here's with both Xenon brights and Halogen brights:

And with xenons without any brights:

It's a major difference compared to the halogens.

Those look really awesome. Definitely need to do this to my car, the OEM headlights are pretty horrible to say the least. Now I just need to start reading as I have no idea where to start :fencelook:

I still need to see my car from an outside perspective, lol.
I've already got tons of compliments of how the lights look from a distance.

@Bayn46
Let me know if you need any help. I did a fair amount of research before buying these.

Actually not, the E46 OEM halogen headlights are some of the best out there. The field of vision is allot better than 95% of the cars out there with halogens. The brightness is also crisp and the range of light is excellent.

I find them pretty poor compared to my previous car and a few other cars that I've driven.

The brights don't light up that much and the low beam doesn't extend far enough on the left and right side of the car - I need to have my fogs on to light those areas. They appear to focused on the middle of the lane/road. Maybe they need to be raised a little but there is definitely room for improvement.

Agreed, I've seen some horrible mods which is why I want to do some real research on this and get it right first time. Definitely don't want to order something from the states which ends up being rubbish.

Maybe your lights are just not aligned properly. What bulbs do you have in there? Maybe they have lost some light output over the years.

Only thing that might need alignment is the height but they look identical to halogen brights pic that Falcon21 posted above (Pic #1).

I think my problem with them is is that they lack "volume" and you struggle to see obstacles to the left and right i.e. pedestrians on the sidewalk. The Xenons produce a much fuller beam.

Yup that is the problem with normal reflectors and halogen bulbs, they tend to give a very patchy and uneven output. Now with the output of a set of xenons together with a set of proper projectors to cast the light to give nice even light output.
