Checked the tool time ones, too steep for a stock e46 M3. I would imagine the same for a stock e36 M3.

So today I had some time to work on my car and some birthday money itching to be spent.
Decided it was time to get rid of the cracked wood gearshift surround and replace my cabin air filter.

So off to cliftons M3 center I went to find a replacement gearshift surround. And then to BMW to get a new filter. The original BMW filter is cheaper than the GUD one at Midas.

I am pretty pleased with the result, it just needs a good scrubbing.

To end off the day, and to try out my new jack that I got for my birthday, I decided it is time to get my CSLs on the car. I had them plastidipped black last year but never took the time to put them on.

Lets just say I got really good at changing wheels tonight because as I was putting on the last one I realised every one is facing the wrong direction :flyfun:

Switched them all out and then went for a drive.

Going from 16" to 17" with a slightly wider tyre literally transformed the way the car behaves in corners. The whole car just feels more direct and the handling was much more predictable. Before it was never easy to predict how the front end would behave on turn in. The car really feels like it was meant to run with 17s. Which I suppose it was since it was factory specced with 17s.

I never knew they made 17" CSL reps too...
Im not a fan of black wheels, silver would look so much classier on your car.

I definitely agree with you. I just wanted to try it out before I have the wheels properly refurbished. Will definitely be going silver or a light gunmetal.
