It doesn't have a comment as it was most likely repainted by the BMW dealer at a non-ARC. Yes, I know of a BMW dealership that does this.
You not the first person to mention this! I think that's what happened here as I doubt it was done by the previous owner and not picked up at trade in. Or they picked it up, low balled her, but chose not to have the plan voided so they could sell it for normal retail.
So yes, if there is any repair work that is required and it is NOT done by a BMW approved shop, and BMW find out, as Llew mentioned then the MP is in danger of being voided. When it's at an ARC it needs to have a final inspection and quality check and then be signed off to have the MP reinstated or retained.
If it goes through an ARC, typically for anything, they load a comment. So my 850 has a comment loaded for about R10k for pothole damage incurred in Cape Town (ya, you see your roads ain't always the best also!), which required a new oil cooler (cos the oil coolers sit ridiculously low on the 8 series) and some repairs to the bumper I think, can't remember exactly. All of this was disclosed by BMW when I bought the 850. I am really surprised that they missed this on the car you looked at yesterday, especially considering if you were able to pick it up in the sun. I am hoping that it was just an oversight on their side.
A 56 year old lady means nothing, for all they and we know she could've been power sliding around traffic circles in Umhlanga with the traction control off.
They specified the race of the lady too but I chose to omit that
