5k in the M3

Hit almost 5000KM in the M3 and average consumption is 11.2l/100km. Been tracking consumption using Fuelly:

OBC seems to be about 1l/100km too optimistic most of the time compared to Fuelly. Car is still completely standard (except for the E92 19s) and around 147k KM. I use the car as my daily driver. Did one trip to Durban - that's where consumption dipped a bit. Overall though, for a performance M car, can't really complain about consumption. I randomly get the thumbs up from many strangers in traffic - still love this car :inlove:

Once warmed up, she does see the occasional red line. However, don't drive her very hard all the time.

Thanks for this! It confirmed what I had been thinking - that an M3 driven gently/normally has basically the same consumption as my 330i.

I certainly did not buy this car for consumption, but rather to enjoy my daily commute a bit more. The decent fuel economy is just a cherry on the top for this car and emphasises how good they are as daily drivers too.
