Howzit Guys

This is my 1974 BMW 2004

I came across this car while in search of a 2002. I always wanted a 2002 but these cars as we know are very scarce and when you find them in good condition they come at quite a price

So when I saw the car for the first time from a distance I wasn’t too taken back by it but on closer inspection I was really amazed at its condition. The Car’s original interior really caught my eye. The car has original keys, owner’s manual and radio manual.

To be honest when I went to view the car I didn’t even know what a 2004 was, if fact I didn’t know it existed. I was actually hoping the guy who found if for me was mistaken about the 2004 and in fact meant 2002 lol

So before actually buying the car I decided to do some research on it. I googled bmw 2004 and couldn’t really find much about the car. Appears that the car was only built for the local SA market with a few being exported to Brazil. It was known as the cheetah in the local market.

Being so rare I was concerned about parts etc but for the price and condition I couldn’t leave this car behind. It was my chance to own a piece of South African BMW history.

After inspecting the car my dad assured me that it is 100% mechanically and I should attempt to drive it back to jhb. 500km later she made the journey to Jhb effortlessly

She has become my daily ride to gym and back and used on most Sunday cruises . She has really grown on me

Built In ZIM for theres and our market. The body was based on a Glas, a company bought out over by BMW. A funny thing, the rear tail lights are from the early E12 5 series like my 530MLE, turned upside down and used left to right..

Nice condition and rare, look after her. Only know a few owners with those.
Welcome to the oldies club
