After a month and a few weeks, I finally have the car back after one of the pistons went.

Massive thanks to the guys at X-Flow Performance for the incredible workmanship. Thanks to @Xcede Performance for recommending them as well.

I've been driving the car for about a week now and it feels great. +1 for the fuel economy, seems like a different car.

The total cost of everything was just under R100k. Ninety-something, I stopped keeping track at some point for my own sanity lol. I will post videos on this thread once I get a chance to take them.

We’ve had another two bone stock B58’s like yours come in this month with cylinder 6 piston cracked

Glad to know you fixed up and going along well.

I am curious to know the parts list for this fix?
1 piston or a set of 6?
1 injector or a set of 6?
Did the cylinder walls not get damaged from the cracked piston?

What else was replaced ?

We decided to go with a set of 6 forge drop in pistons as I plan to keep the car for a bit. I only replaced the one faulty injector because the funds were piling up. There are other things but they are mostly small (not so small) things like the head gasket, head bolts, etc.

The cylinder walls weren't badly damaged but we still had to take it for engineering.

That's right. Ended up costing a little bit more than the original quote

Is there a common root cause for these failures and are there any preventative maintenance items that owners can do to prevent this? Also Is it limited to a specific year model?

Glad to hear it is done, I saw your car a few times at XFlow and with the way the build was going, your car is going to fine for a good few 100kms to come!
