Hey dude,
Sorry about that, but that fact that it is solved...take it as school fees. I had a warranty on my M135i which i never used because many of the preventative items would just be too much of a hassle.
Yeah I’m less stressed about driving a bit far from home now. I was starting to stress about losing all coolant 100s of kms away home.
And on your acceleration being slow in 'Comfort', maybe you need to do an adaptations reset. Google it but mostly it is swtich the ignition on ONLY, dont start that car. hold down the accelerator until you feel the button under being pressed and hold this for about 10-15 seconds (IIRC) and then release the accelerator and switch the car off. Lock it and unlock it and start it up and the accelerator adaptations should be reset and will adapt to your driving style afterwards. Feels like a new car once this is done. If you hoon it, the car will adapt to this and become a bit jerky as it will be hooning it all the time in that mode lol.
Thanks for this. Will definitely Google and YouTube. It never crossed my mind that this could be a solution. Hope it works because it’s really noticeable.

All my hooning is on sports mode, it’s like driving a completely different car.

I have done it plenty times especially on the F20, you will definitely feel the difference. Given the symptoms, it shold work because most of the time you driving the car easy in comfort daily especially in CPT traffic, it will get a bit lazy to match the driving pattern essentially giving you a more relaxed ride.
But yeah, give it a go, its harmless...no damage to the car or anything. Easy option to use for now.

Can confirm this works like a charm, I did it monthly.

Now that I'm on MHD, you have the option for linear throttle mapping. What you put in is what you get out, it reduces low end torque and kind of behaves like an NA car. I usually enable this with my daily drives on Stage 1 and 60% power for a very relaxed ride. It's horrible when you actually want to hammer it though, completely removes the punch and makes the car feel slow.

@AshG108 Legend you are! This worked like a charm. Feels like I am driving a different car. Initially thought I was imagining things but my fuel consumption dropped from 9.2 litres to the 1 00km to 8.8 after the reset.

I’m other news, got a reality check yesterday 😂.

As I was waiting to turn from Blaauwberg Road into the R27 towards Sunningdale, a Hockenheim silver M2C sneaked in behind me and a G80 convertible M4 stood alongside me. Having a sense of what was about to happen, I sat up and took the turn . . . Must have been less than 10 seconds later and the M2C was disappearing into the horizon. The G80 driver either didn’t let their inner child win or wasn’t aware of what the surrounding and they spent that 10 seconds catching up to me.

The fun stopped abruptly though as a metro car was trodding along on the MyCiti bus lane.

To the owner of the M2C, CA44*****, your car sounds amazing mate.

All you need is a stage 2 tune and you're dropping S55s like flies.

Have you considered a mild tune?

Something like this should work.

I think a drive in the G87 might change that

Done that. Somewhat uninspired. It does some things better, which I don't really care for much personally, but at the most important things it falls short.

M2C with 475hp (CS) map and KWV3 is a better car than the G87 can ever aspire to be, in my opinion.

Yet in time (not long, soon) people will soften, and the allure of pureness will dissipate. And in the end the lone man will stand last.

It is the way of the world. It is how evolution works: dependence on the design of the mind to forget.

Last of the Mohicans (I guess we are both old enough to appreciate that reference)

Wow, a whole year has passed since I last posted here. “No news is good news” has never been truer.

The year in review:
Just passed 80,000 km last week (I don’t even know where the mileage is going 😂😂😂). Nothing eventful has happened except the occasional “gong” due to low fuel. The lifetime consumption is on 8.6 l / 100 km which is testimony to the soft life this car is having.

I took the car on a “long” trip in March. I went up to Knysna for some time off and the cars was a beauty to drive. All I needed was to engage sports mode and the rest just falls into place; amusing acceleration, easy overtakes, and satisfying downshifts on braking. The downshifts are by far my favourite thing on the car. Needless to say, I collected about 3 speeding tickets for that trip. It’s a scam though, those 60, 70 and 80 km/h zones are a joke.

There was a mini van that I couldn’t shake off. The little bugger matched my every move for a good 100 km or so. I still have PTSD of him in my rearview mirrors (must have been a Renault or Opel).

CBS, CBS, CBS:
I have now entered into a relationship with CBS :) . The car is in for a “non-CBS” service today. My last service was 10,000 km ago so this is my second of “non-CBS”. CBS is saying I still have another 10,000 km to go but I am uneasy with this as it keeps increasing every few thousand kms.

I told them to do everything that is due in 10,000 km which includes engine oil + related filters, spark plugs, micro filter and air filter. However, I find myself wondering if this is the right approach:
1. What do the other folks do?
2. Do I only limit the out of CBS services to oil + oil filter changes or I do everything as I just did now?

ZF
Should I consider a ZF service now? @Salt, what have you done with your car? I am on 80,000 km and I am wondering if it’s the right window to have ZF look at the gearbox.
