Finally had some time to detail the ///M. Car has some pretty deep scratches which have gone through the clear coat, so not much I could do with those, except lighten them a bit - however, got rid of most of the surface scratches and swirls. Found lots of small uniform scratches, probably from poor washing techniques - did not go too aggressive on the compound though so you can still see some of the scratches, but not nearly as bad as before.
Looks like the previous/s owner used some sh!t colour based polish on the car. Could see it come off with the compound and found traces of it between the gaps - I masked out portions when using the compound and found I had a colour change from slightly orange to a deeper red on the entire car. Initially thought the clear coat was gone, but luckily it was above that layer. My front bumper would definitely need a proper respray at some point - it was done very, very badly.
Used the following products:
1) Sonax clay bar
2) Meguiars Scratch X (by hand on the bad scratches)
3) Meguiars Ultimate Compound (DA with a mild cutting pad)
4) Menzerna PF2500 (DA with a polishing pad)
5) Collonite 845 (DA with a finishing pad)
Did most of the work in the evening, so did not take before and during pics, but a few after pics.
