Hi All,
Just regarding the E46 Airbag recall and the notice posted - I mailed them for mine and also popped past Menlyn BMW. The service advisor says to me " he knows nothing about such a campaign and doubts the letter is real" and its probably fictitious.... implying in am stupid or something. I said to him I doubt it as the letter had BMW dealership details and contact numbers/names etc. He then says, give me your keys and puts it through the key reader, speaks to someone on the phone, gets a print out saying no outstanding campaigns on VIN number. I thank him and leave - Just makes you wonder though!!
Then I get a mail back from BMW responding to my earlier mail asking for telephone number and they will confirm via phone. Get the call this morning from them, the lady says to me they have checked against the VIN I supplied and my VIN is excluded from the call back so I am fine.
I really wonder about the dealerships these days, how can they not be aware of a recall campaign!!!!
