So the grill is something we have to accept and live with I guess.

Am I the only one who can see a sort of AUDI bulge on the nose?

I obviously looked at this post with your eyes bud. I think that bonnet is very RS6-ish (luckily the RS6 is a very sexy car) and that grill ... I think if you remove the number plate across the middle of it, it might look pretty decent actually, but with the plate... not a fan. As for the rest of it, hot as hell!

Not gonna lie, I really like it. People always complain all BMWs look the same, now they're complaining it looks too different. This thing will stand out, no longer is it a mundane 3-series look-alike with 2 fewer doors.

They just keeping getting bigger and bigger. 4 series must now be getting close to the size of the old 6 series. The 2 series I guess is comparable to the size of the e46 coupe. Pity the 2 series doesn’t have all the creature comforts like the 4 series.
As for the grills, not for me.

As a overall first impression I like it, but those rear tail pipes are very Peugeot/ Honda civic like which I thought we were long past.... unfortunately not it may seem.

Was hoping for a much closer resemblance to the concept 4 which was so gorgeous in my eyes, I do however like this new production 4, eagerly awaiting the release of the m4 with that new s58 engine

maybe I'm losing my mind but this really looks like an absolute dog.

And IMHO it isn't the grilles which (in M Sport form at least) have started to grow on us I think (I still think they need an alfa-style side mounted plate LOL). On this one BMW would have been seen as too similar to the existing 4 (from the renders) if they actually went for more traditional horizontal grills as opposed to these vertical ones.

What I don't really like is the A5 rear quarter and Jaguar/Alfa front lights that somehow don't look right in pics

Will reserve final judgement until seeing it in the flesh

Is it just me or does it look a lot better (less worse) in the standard non-M version? Cleaner bumpers, no ugly fake exhaust tips?

Will also wait to see a real metal example. But I don't know how they thought this would work. The elongated front grill doesn't flow into the rest of the car in any way. I do think the elongated grille is itself really ugly. But that it has 0 flow with the rest of the car just makes it worse.

Guys, sorry but I have to ask, what is BMW thinking by bringing out such massive kidney grills and wait for it to be covered up by number plates, the grill is in itself really ugly IMO, but never before were the grills covered up- don’t know where bmw saw this one going...
