My Rides - History

I Lay in bed last night thinking about this. Since my trusty beloved golfie was stolen in september 2011 It upset my balance in cars I had then. Since then I started buying and selling in an attempt to restore that balance.

Anyway I always end up looking for pics of my cars so Thought it wise to have them all together in one cosy thread. So when I want to show my folks or friends I can find them in one convenient place anywhere in the world
So let's start form the beginning.

First car was a brand new 2002 VW citi.com 1.4i Dark metallic blue (7D7D colour code) Goflie Mk1.

Old Pic considering the technology back in 2002. Drove it off the showroom floor home. What a feeling.

Needless to say it got bling'd out over the years. With 15" Zax classics and eventually fitted michelin's all round.

Next car to follow as most of you should remember is a real treat. It was my introduction to BMW and it made me join this very club to do research on it before buying. And it sure paid off. Best Car I've ever owned. And probably for a very very long time.

Then The golf got stolen and long story short the M3 got sold as well. I already had my sights on a lovely White 540i that was lingering around the for sale section. So I couldn't resist and organised tickets and accommodation while I was away with work. As soon as I landed the very next day we went to collect Jandre's car in cape town and drove it back.

Very Beautiful cars, I would like to ask why you went from a beautiful modern 2000+ M3 to an older model 540? Iwould have understood if you went for an E39 540 6 speed individual, But that M3 will drive circles around that 540 wouldn't it? and its a much more modern car?

If its financial then I can understand, but if its out of choice I would be interested to know what pushed you towards the older 540i.

I am really sorry if my post is a bit intrusive I don't mean to be. :fencelook:

The 540 is actually a replacement for the golfie. There is no substitute for the M3 thusfar. Well the green car is providing straight line performance but not much else

The sequence is actually slightly out of sync from the M onwards. At one stage I only had the M as a daily. For about 2 months I was putting about 1500km a month on it and wasn't happy with that. So that's when I was looking around and spotted the 540. BUT before that materialised I ended up buying one of my friends friends cars. Which is "Stompie" You All know the over-titled thread E30 V8 Monster

Lots of lovely cars you have, and have had. Obviously the M3 and 540i stand out as true greats. Well done.
