How does it stack up to the petrol equivalent of the 640d ? Surely when buying a 2door sports car fuel is the least of your worries :=): Think the only diesel car I’ve driven was the 1.9tdi polo sport line. Was ok on take-off but had no top end power what so ever even after chipping and bigger turbo. Guess what I’m asking is can it stack up to a petrol version when it comes to performance?

Haha I’ve never owned a diesel car just know my old e34 525i '95 spanked the tdi on open road. Want to know if the diesel bmw's can compare to their petrol siblings or if they lack the top end like all diesels do. I’m not hating just interested if diesels can be an alternative to a petrol sports car ?

Yes i know that lol I’ve just always believed that diesel belongs on the farm not the track, but I might be wrong :flyfun: think I’ll go test drive a big diesel. Do you have ant performance specs on your 640d ?

My 530d ran a strong 13.70s 1/4m & trapped 212km/h on 1km run .. :thumbs:

Shees ok so diesel can haul ass quite well. Not bad at all. I think I’m still under the impression of old diesel bakkies and cars where diesel was good for towing and not much more than that. Will def. have a look at diesel BMW's
