So it has more than 2000km on now, average consumption down to 5.1l/100km:

For today's trip 4.6l/100km

My favourite things:
1. 8 speed auto:inlove:
2. The fuel consumption:thumbs:
3. Just enough power when you want to use it (got to love those torques):joy:
4. The color - it looks so good combined with the sport pack interior:inlove:

Only arrived home now from Pretoria. At least it gave me some time really trying out the head beam assist / adaptive headlights for an extended period.

Its really awesome:thumbs:

I thought it would just automatically dim the brights, but it is much more complicated than that. The brights / high beam remains on most of the time but the system actively does not shine into the oncoming traffic lane for example. But continues to shine bright to the left hand side of the road.

It really cool and the system is constantly moving around the lights:inlove:

And in the real world?

I doubt it will ever actually run at 4.1lt.

My OBC says 5.4 and in getting 7.2 when I actually fill up the tank.

Hey petrivanzyl this a very strange question to ask but I rented the new c-class a while back, and I noticed whenever you switch on the aircon the engine idle doesnt change and it didnt take power away from the car,I asked a guy at avis and he reckoned it has an eletronic unit which isnt connected to the engine and worked fine even when the engine wasnt on.my question is does the new F30 have similiar technology in terms of the A/C coz it makes a big difference in town driving.

Thanks for explaining how this feature works.

That is so cool and definitely worth considering when building a vehicle.

I have noticed a difference between the fuel consumption reported on the control display vs. Road Trip on my iPhone, which uses petrol slip data and a kilometre reading to calculate usage statistics.

Thanks, not the most technical of explanations, but it is cool. Did you not opt for the driving lights package?

Well overall average as per OBC is 5.0, calculated on fuelly is 5.3.

Law what is your consumption like?

Not 100% sure, but probably. I can feel no difference when A/C is on in terms of power.

Also even when engine switches off at a robot with the stop/start the A/C stays on

So I dropped someone off at a guy that works on everyone I know that is too cheap to have their BMWs serviced at the dealer.

The guy was interested to have a look at the F30.....

He noted the following: The air filter seems a lot bigger, there is a lot more space around the engine to work on it and the "control" unit is much better place to be protected from water damage.

:dunno:
