you will be surprized what this cars can handle in a corner.

at zwartkops,180km ,driver braked after the 50 meter mark, swung the car into the corner, hit the apex on the spot and accelerated out of the corner, with all the gizmos off,and it was a 330i,loved it and two laps were over too quickly, but gained a lot of respect for the bm

The car is fine, no ill behaviour, but last night Coisman could hear the tiking sound. I should have turned up the volume a bit

The 325i can be surprisingly light on fuel, looks like my next fuel up will be close to 8l/100km, mostly driving to work & back & in town.
Not bad.

Down at the coast mine is still heavy on fuel in stop/start town traffic, but on the open road it sips nicely! On my last fill up my average consumption was 9.5 l/100 km - mostly open road driving, but mostly spirited, and a fair amount of crawl traffic. Since filling up on Saturday, have driven into Cape Town and back on the N1 for the park off yesterday, and then the same for a family function this morning, consumption is sitting on 8.5 l/100 km. Also, have switched now over to Engen, so curious to see how that goes...

But yes, 8 l/100 km is quite possible!! Took this pic one the Hermanus breakfast run a while ago:

@ Philip, that's very good for a 330i. Were you able to keep to that AVE consumption to the next refuel?

On the current tank I did 567km so far. She tells me I can do another 240km (right foot permitting of course). This is combined urban traffic / highway. I am about to fuel up again with one notch above 1/4 tank. Not bad.
Would love to see the consumption on an open road trip to CT or some nice destination.

I just have to plan a trip to the Cape next year :inlove:

BTW this is my post #1000

Thats good mileage my e46 330i auto gives a return of 12.8-13.2 on the sort town trips. Best I've ever seen was 7.6 but was cruising on highway at speed limit and was a 80km round trip. After that back to normal.

Congrats on 1000 posts

Well, the last two tanks have done roughly 574 km each from open road and town driving. From mostly town driving basically subtract 100 km. The way I look at it, if driven sensibly these cars can be pretty economical and comparable to econoboxes, but with loads more reserve power where you need it. And admittedly, I am always monitoring my econometer to find the "sweet" spot of energy usage, until that is I am seduced by the sound of the six, which also admittedly, does happen often!

Hi Frikkie,

Just found this thread on E90 Post - shows a similar erratic and uneven idle that you posted about.

Video added here that this guy posted...

Philip, she is fine since the last service. Nothing irratic ever since.
My fuel consumption to a nose dive, as a result of urban traffic only during December.

Okay, that's good to hear. Mine's going in for service this month and there are a few things that needs to be sorted out. A few days ago had steering lock warning issues three times in a row... Have to get this sorted out before motorplan ends!

Let us know what they find. Is the idle still erratic like the vid you posted last year?

No, idling is normal, since the vanos components was replaced. The tik tik is driving me insane. Booking it soon. That is the only way to secure a chauffeur :roflol:
