My e46 328i, *2nd accident*

Depends, if new parts are used, the car will be a write off I am sure
That rear quarter panel is going to be a bitch, I am not to sure if its torn, cant tell from the pics...
If it is thats whats going to get you Cause to fix that properly your looking at a cut and join, the rest of the stuff is fairly easy to fix as its bolt on/bolt off, but for that you will have to go onto the jig, which means major structural which means elavated rates.
I recon proper esitamte (just guessing here) dont know prices out my head is about 60k and you can maybe have that done for about 35k, but will have to ask my estimator (Im still a bit of a noob) Thats repairing the rear quarter + second hand spares.

Ag no man!! So sorry to hear this sad news! Can't stand people who skip robots - I am the oke that stops when the lights are just going from amber to red, and then am constantly shocked at how many people continue through, and from far behind! Had a wake up call the other day, I have a nasty habit of pulling off the moment the light goes green (I always pay attention to when the other robot turns amber and red) - anyway, usual situation, pulled off immediately as the light turned green, and some stupid @rse decided to take a chance and go through after the arrow for him turned red. Well fortunately I was awake and saw "idiot in motion" so aborted the furious diesel bakkie's launch and avoided a collision - thank goodness I wasn't in the 330i! You need to have eyes everywhere and second guess everyone on the road these days!!

The last few days have been hectic so nothing has happened as of yet, but in the meanwhile I have taken off the broken parts and found under the bonnet that the power steering fluid reservoir was smashed due to the air box breaking loose and pushing into it, I also jacked up the car and found a broken inner tie rod (rack end) not sure what its called exactly, so i replaced that and took the car for wheel alignment so the car is now mobile again :joy:
I'm gonna have to try keep my costs down with this one especially if it goes to court and have to try squeeze my money outta the guy :bangdesk: Who knows how long that will take.
@ Zaleonardz, I have taken some more pics of the rear now that I've managed to get the car turned around, it doesn't seem to be torn, just crumpled
@ Sankekur, The insides of the Xenon seem to be ok but the housings and all brackets have been destroyed and the angel eyes have snapped too :argh:
Some days i get the feeling to just get rid of the car but then i slap myself and tell myself how amazing this car is and that i must just be more cautious,
@ Philip Foglar, I hear you, I'm the same, I don't like to tempt fate and some days I tend to go the second the light changes green too, but what annoys me about this is that I was about 100m away from the light and slowing down when it turned green so I still had to get to the light, so how long was it red before this clever guy decided to come flying through :nonono:

The problem is that, most places don't want to spend time "fixing" things but rather replacing, which is not always a bad thing, but it does make the repair of an accident damaged car a lot more expensive. So having important mechanical or absolutely "unfixable" only items replaced and the rest fixed should dramatically bring costs down.
Yep, seen too often how these clowns go through the lights well after it has turned red - a case of I am already stationary at a red light and some idiot (or a few in some cases even) goes flying passed me in a different lane as the green light traffic is pulling-off, it's crazy! :bangdesk:

Feel for you. I come up to Polokwane once a month and Have learned that red robot does not mean they are gonna Stop. I normally meet my clients at Sav wimpy for breakfast. Next time il let you now if you want then have a quick meet for breakfast. Also if L can help and any parts to come up from JHB Gopher will gladly assist.
