Sorry to hear that bud.

Personally I dont like the e46's handling in the wet, regardless of tires etc, Ive had a few very close calls myself... the e90 handles the wet 100% better.

Time for an upgrade! Hope the shoulder heals up... Send a injury claim to Third Party Insurance, they might pay you out R 1000 000 in 5 years time, then you can buy a new M3 and have some fuel money left... :)

This is a guaranteed write-off. Just waiting for the other oke to send me his quote and I'll submit the claim.
I have a feeling both cars are write-offs. No airbags popped, weird, had my seatbelt on.
Parts alone excl paint came to 45k.

Eish buddy i know how you feel my Peugeot 307 was written off this year. But the main thing is that you are fine and no one was killed. At the end of the day you could always get another bimmer, not another life

Geez man,

Sorry to hear bout your crash. I hope you're healing well.

As for the car, its very sad to see it go.

But at least when the insurance pays out you can buy a 6 cylinder.
Believe me, they're not that much heavier on fuel. As said by sankekur, consider it as awesomness tax.

You can definitely expect your insurance premium to sky rocket. So u r gonna pay a lot for whatever u buy next.

I speak from experience, my insurance is now more than double as before. But that's for a 325i. The insurance wanted almost exactly double for another e46 318i. So I said I might as well pay a few bucks extra for the 325i.

As for the shoulder, use the Road Accident Fund. U might as well gain as you were actually hurt.

U might not get the RAF money right away, but at least a few years from now you'll get a call whilst you are chilling, from the RAF telling u your gonna get some money.

Once again, I wish u a speedy recovery and a 6 cylinder for the future.

I need a daily drive and something on motorplan so been looking at an 08/09 E90 320d but I'm keeping quiet about it for now as I just cost the old man quite a bit on the E46,lol So he is taking delivery of a new 323 this week, so I should be moving in his Touring for a bit after I suck up and earn some brownie points.
But right now all I'm doing is praying and waiting on the outcome of the insurance claim. I wasn't listed as a driver of the vehicle being under 25 etc etc but the contract states that should anything happen with an unlisted driver, excess will be 5k over and above 5% of the damage/pay-out. I hope i'm stressing for nothing and they pay soon.

Eish, sorry to hear that bud. maybe it's better that way. A repaired car is never as good as it was (99% of the time anyway).

RIP Yulie's Bimmer.
