technical Hit the Curb!!!

As the title suggest i finally hit something with my car (320d F30). very sad and upset but I guess its part of life and happens to the best of us. The dent is pretty bad and i wanted some advice so i know what I'm looking at to get this fixed sometime in the future.

I wanted to know if this is fixable by just trying to bend out the dent or am I looking at getting an entire new bumper. I don't expect it to be perfect after as my car has its fair share of showing its age and I do have some color coded paint but I'm not sure if this is something I could DIY.
If i had to replace the whole bumper what price range am I looking at so i can start saving or is this something I should try and do through my insurance.
If i have to take it to an autobody shop any good recommendations in the JHB area.

I did intend on putting a front splitter in the future but that will only cover the one small part so i guess that doesn't help

Ouch, s#!t happens indeed.

Im not sure if it will work, but try heating up the plastic gently with a heat gun while pushing on the back of the dent. The plastic should become soft/pliable with enough heat application. Dont let it melt/bubble!

Then maybe some touchup paint with a paintbrush and gentle sanding/polishing to make it blend in - wont look perfect, but should disguise most of it.

As for paint shops, as far as I am concerned, they have all spawned from hell and are servants of satan!

Totally fixable. You can try do as Benji suggested for the interim until you can get it repaired and painted professionally.
The hard part would be to find a reputable panel shop that actually give a crap about their workmanship. You can try Autobody Midrand. I used them before many years ago and I was happy with the work done.

It is a car, it's gonna happen. It's the Corolla of the BMW world, unless it really really really really bothers you i would not even bother fixing it. That damage is 2/3k to fix at most anything more than that is wasted capital.

'tis but a scratch

Easy fix this. If the rest of your bumper is fine paint wise, then just do a spot repair. Its alpine white and low enough that it won't matter.

The guys came out and fixed a much worse thing at my house for a few grand. I used renew my car but this was quite a few years ago so I don't know whether they are still active.

Almost any paint/body shop will be able to knock out that repair and a complete bumper respray for under R5K. I wouldn't bother until something worse happened.

I would not hesitate to get a complete Kit (front, sides, diffuser), get the car lowered with new tekkies, exhaust system, the whole works if this happened to me, once I fit all the new stuff I'll slap a Pokemon plaster on the scratch you pointed out.

On a serious note though, what does it look like from a normal standing viewpoint once cleaned up?

honestly you can barely see it thinking of adding a front splitter eventually so I'm sure it will be even less noticeable so i think ill add it to the bottom of my to do list now after todays replies
