sweet ride dude, what mods have u done on the performance side?

ta, thx..... :)

here's a quick rundown...

Motor - stock with K&N airfilter (flat) and fan delete mod.
Xhaust - custom s/s pipe from branches all the way back by van der Linde Developments in Kya Sand.
Suspension - Eibach pro kit
Wheels - Lenso BM05's 17" (Hyper Black) running on 225/45/17 Conti's.

The car, at last dyno, is running 122kw on the wheels.

L8erz!

when you took the dyno reading, was this at coast?how is it possible to make so much with only those mods?you must be running something else.Iam making 118kw atw with much more mods...iam not flaming you but just curious?

hi again,

nope, I'm on the reef. I just saw your post, and was wondering the same thing.... I haven't done anything else to her. I'm told that in '95, from the factory, it was pushing 114kw on the wheels.... before I did the pipe and filter, I was still getting 112kw on the wheels (at the time still on 15").

Not quite sure how to explain this, but you have me wondering now... But my dyno sheet definately states 122kw... (actually 121,8 I think). hmmm.... ??? maybe some of our other fanatics can help clear this up for us?? Guys?

iam pretty sure those figures are either at coast or at the flywheel.there is no way on Gods green earth that you can be making that with those mods alone....or maybe your running something secret?
i was making 133kw at the flywheel with just exhaust...iam pretty sure its at the flywheel dude, which dyno did you have the run?
and we at the coast are making +- 97kw at the wheels at the reef! and thats taking it 141kw at the fly according to mnf specs

yoh 10kw from a pipe and filter..... I'm driving to VD Linde developements with my 540i for a new pipe ekse ;)

like I have said before, there are SOOOOO many different things that effect dyno readings.

yup,i aggree.i tend to use the dyno readings as more or less a guide, but when it comes to showing your power, its down to the road

Every Dyno will give you different results. It all depends on how the dyno itself has been set up.

Best to do is to have a dyno result with your car being stock and then compare that will results after mods to see what gains you got.

I hear ya... I'll try find my dyno sheet and scan it in to upload... wait r u going to Kyalami tomorrow? I might pop in and we can chat. If there's a secret on my ride... I know not of it... and I've had her for almost 9 years now....

yeah... been thinking something don't quite add up.. :(

anywayz.... the dyno belongs to Alec from Evolution 2 Motorsport here in Kyalami, and the car was first run as stock std, with 15" OEM rims & tyres. The readout at the time was 112kw. After the xhaust & filter were done, the readout from the same dyno, now with the 17's, was 122kw.

He rekons his dyno shows wheels, but I tend to agree that I think he meant to say "flywheel", or maybe I'm just going deaf in my old age... :mmm:

Shot for all the feedback guys... b.t.w....

I must say though, the pipe I have sounds brutal, and many a 3.0 M3 (E36) has seen it's a$$ when trying to take me on... :)

Hows the fan delete treating you?

Awesome thanks! Sh1t !!!! I was gonna phone u and thank you again for your help. Car's purring like a kitten, and no cooling issues at all. As a point of interest, the needle is now slightly to the cooler side than before. :)

U coming thru 2morrow? I'm trying to be there for an hour or two....

AFAIK you can get the other thermostat, seals, and fan switch from BMW. doesnt the kit just contain a nut to cover the fan one (which you dont need), water wetter, and the thermostat and fan switch?

Sounds about right..... the nut is some anodised aluminium cover nut-very pretty, but definately not neccessary. Giz & I just replaced the thermostat, o-ring (didn't do the gasket, coz it was replaced a few months back), radiator switch, and ripped the fan out. Voila! 1x fan delete mod! :)
