Also for safety reasons Im removing the GT front spoiler in preparation for Saturday's gymkhana at Tarlton.








Went for a drive and the new tyres are quieter as far as road noise but they pick/kick up so many more stones now. Suburban streets sound like a gravel rally stage.

Im surprised there aren't more fanatics belonging to BMWCCG that participate in their events, I can count the names on one hand that I know of. It's a pity because they do host awesome events.

I am also a paid up member but alas, any track etc event in my E36 is out of the question..

MSA grinds my gears, and unfortunately all BMWCCG track events are MSA events.
Would have loved to participate in this one

Yes will be there, and yes the politics around MSA are somewhat infused in the events sometimes.

Either way it's good fun in a safe, controlled environment.

Plus you can watch other loaded sods thrash their M6s, Porches and other exotica.

Dyno sheet from Rennzport Dyno day.
Stock M52B28 with custom cold air induction and S50B32 headers and exhaust. Stock software.

Now it's time for M50 manifold swap and take it back after some adaptation time. Im very impressed at how well this engine compares to my 330i motor, never expected it to make more torque than the 3.0lt and have the same power as a stock 330i.

M50 manifold will definitely help the upper end of the graph.

Will replace the broken O2 sensor now too.

Graph looks strong, the start of the rev range seems to bounce around a bit but that car is making some very good power. Well done.

When will you be doing the M50 manifold swap and o2 sensor? I am doing my o2 sensor this coming week so will also be going back to the dyno to see what happens with a completely healthy engine.

Oh ok I see.

These 328i engines performed well, I always did think my 328i that I had back in 2007 felt stronger than my 330i. Could just be my imagination but who knows.

Ive missed my 330i so very much, the car was just amazing! You think the altitude has anything to do with it being so close to the b30, I'm surely it's loss should be equal on the b30 and b28?

My 330i felt so much better then my 323ci, love that engine it's just such a gem, but been toying with the idea of swapping in an m52b28tu to replace my b25tu, wondering if it was worth it, because it will be a much straight forward swap then the m54b30 swap, but if the b28 pulls the same as a b30 then il definitely go the b28,route!!!

Any inside info on the charateristic of then b28tu vs m43b30? You reckon for ease the b28 would be the better option?
