My 135i 'Midnight' slow modding thread

A little while ago I got myself a JB4 but as soon as I try any map other than stock the car miss fires terribly! It was weird because stock the car ran great!!

I decided to start with the basics and replace the plugs to see how it runs afterwards. Turns out it was a good choice as the spark plugs were beyond stuffed!!

Spark plug 1:

Spark plug 2:

Spark plug 3:

Spark plug 4:

Spark plug 5:

Spark plug 6:

As soon as I changed the plugs and coupled with the downpipes and map5 the car turned into an absolute animal:rollsmile: It pulls so hard now its insane.

Anyways here is a pic for clicks:

Oh and thanks so much to Shaun for letting me borrow your spark plug tool bud!:clapper:

Awesome work on the DIY mods

I got the same year model with similiar mileage, also had DPs fitted recently.

Just replaced the charge pipe with a Rennzport one, had to replace plugs, fuel filter and one injector. Will hopefully get her back this week, cant wait

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I am loving the black colour! But its going to be really tough to keep it clean when the rains come.

I really want to get the car ceramic coated to keep it looking good and to add a layer of protection.

I made peace with the fact, that I cant keep my car clean, and she is not even in daily use. But oh boy, when she is clean, she looks hot.

You cant go wrong protecting the paint, it does wonders. I do both cars frequently.

Hi Guys, I thought I'd start a thread to keep a nice record on the journey I hope to have with this awesome beast of a machine.

Lets start with the history. I owned a 2001 Audi A3 1.8t for the better part of 4 years. I thoroughly enjoyed the car and modding it. Over the course of 4 years I modded it extensively from stock, to a forged internal Big turbo little rocket (All DIY). I ended up sadly selling it to get something more comfortable and to start a mod journey again. This is how it eventually looked:

Fortunately I had the opportunity to buy my 135i from a friend.

Wow man, what a beast. She looks beautiful.

Meet "Midnight":

2009 BMW 135i Coupe
n54
6 speed Auto
Sunroof
Xenons
with 101000 km on the clock

I haven't done much in terms of modding, only the golf tee mod and the BOV mod on the stock DV's.

I have also DIY'd my brakelights with some lamin-x to resemble the black line brake lights.

Thanks guys!

Last week I had some spare time and decided to stop by Powerflow to get the secondary CATs deleted and replaced with straight pipes.

The sound improved slightly but its still pretty quiet inside the car. Although the car sounds demonic on coldstart :cartel: I don't think my neighbours are enjoying it as much as I do...

I'm quite happy with the result!

Nicely done bud, this car is a beaut! Do you stay in Northcliff by any chance? The complex looks very familiar, my friend lives in a complex that looks exactly the same, in Northcliff/Fairland area.

He is in unit 11 i think, drives a white 2012/3 125i and his wife has a Freelander 2.

Maybe the same complex.

Good job on the car, it looks really good and sounds the part as well.

Thanks bud! Since these cars came out I've always wanted one. And now I'm loving it!

Thanks so much bud! I do in fact stay in Northcliff/Fairland area. What are the chances:rollsmile:

I think it might be the complex just down the road from where I stay which looks almost exactly the same, because I stay in 11 now. I'll keep an eye out if I see him.

I've been looking at the back of my car and something has been bothering me...

The white stripe on the diffuser looks good to me but the lights just looked to dark and kinda blended into the car a bit too much. I needed to do something to bring the lights and the stripe together.

So I decided to cut out a thin strip in the lamin-x and the results are perfect to me

After:

Let me know what you guys think?? Oh and please excuse the dirty car :skit:
