Events Organiser
We are once again at that time where we wonder how the year has gone by so fast and prepare to spend time with family and loved ones over the festive holiday to break bread and make merry. Whilst we are in the fortuitous position of being able to do so there are so many that are not. As has become a customary calendar event for TheFanatics of KZN, we prefer to conclude our official events for the year with Charity Event.
This year we have identified a Community Based Outreach Program called APN Children’s Home of Safety in the informal settlement of Frasers (Tongaat) that we would like to lend our support to. The Home provides support to approximately 250 kids of varying ages by providing them with meals on a regular basis and social support as is possible. The Home is not a registered NGO / NPO and is totally dependent on the generosity of the public at large to help it provide sustenance to this community of children. Most of these children have lost their parents and are living with other community members and relatives.
We have decided to support this Home by putting together a Shoe Box Driver event. The idea is to fill a shoe box with goodies and hand these out to the children. We also plan to provide a cooked meal for the children on the day. The cost of the meal is R900, cash donations are needed
DATE: 11 December 2016
TIME: Meet at 11am at Petroport North on the N2 at Riverhorse Valley – Depart at 11h30 to the Home
VENUE: APN Children’s Home of Safety in Frasers, Tongaat
POA for the day:
• A cooked meal will be provided for the children. The meal; Breyani comes in at a cost of the meal is R900. The organization has agreed to cook that for us. All we need to do is raise the money or donate the items. The list is as follows:
