Hey Gents, Its not a Porsche yet unfortunately.
Selling this will allow me to save the installments for a while until i can get what im looking for.

Its been almost a year now with the M8, as brilliant of a car it is, i thought it would grow on me over time but unfortunately it isnt giving me that feeling i was looking for. Maybe if i was abit older i would like it....

Very interesting. I did look at a few M8s and was interested in a convertible or coupe... but as a side-grade to the M5 and more because BMW just doesn't make an upgrade for me anymore so it is just 'scratching an itch' to change.

I get what you're saying though. The M5 is a very fast family car for 'car guys' ultimately which is why I've loved them (ever since having kids LOL). Also virtually anonymous except for the maybe 2% of guys who even know it is a special car. It is more now that the requirement to have a sedan is waning as the kids get older that I am looking at other 'garage configurations'

I have my Alfa for that 'other' requirement I think you're after (which is why a replacement is so difficult, why I am reluctant to sell it. Some of the guys that have experienced it now 'get it' too). My Alfa and F90 have nearly the same power to weight ratio for reference.

I am not sure there is a luxury one-and-done car because you will trade off the luxury elements if you go elsewhere or down the BMW stack. I don't think an FF/GTC 4 Lusso does the same thing either. These are all more GT cars than actual sportscars...

So i have the car at a dealer for a few weeks now on consignment. Hasnt been sold yet. Lots of people interested and asking questions. 3 people in total actually came out to view with same 3 putting in finance applications. All 3 declined lol.

I dont want to go any lower on the price that i wanted for it.
May as well just keep it for another year since its in perfect nick and do exhaust

This is true.... Dont know any dealers that would do consignment without you intending to buy another vehicle from them.
To be fair, i havnt really put any effort into trying to get it sold. Im back at the office 4 days a week which consumes most my time and the car isnt getting used.

BMW was willing to buy my car in in December. Maybe different now. You can request this via the website somewhere iirc

I couldn’t bring myself to do it for what was on offer though it wasn’t insulting. More than WBC.

Its quite common. You'll be surprised to know how many high-end pre-owned BMWs are actually consignment stock.
I'm sure someone on here knows a salesman at BMW in JHB who can hook you up. If you were in KZN I would have arranged it for you.

I submitted the evaluation online with BMW. They called me to arrange an evaluation at my closest dealer. Will see how that goes when i get some time.

This is unfortunately very common even on houses. Guys either have no idea of their own finances or are just wasting your time.

In my next life, I would also like to be one of these folks that lives on hopes and dreams. Hopefully you get a cash buyer or someone who is going to be able to come to the party on finance.

Ag it's probably not a bad thing. Even with the V8 I have I'm dying with fuel consumption on the daily commute between Northcliff and Sandton. A quarter tank idling in traffic. So I am seriously considering going electric and keeping the X4 as the fossil fuel "backup". I really hope your car goes to a good home though, it's gorgeous, AND R300k cheaper than the next cheapest one. Really don't know how it hasn't sold at that price.

Are you sure that M8 wasn't shutting down cylinders or something? Like a Hemi? Cos my consumption is properly shite. Right now, I hate to say this, it's averaging 17.3/100... on the combined cycle. To be fair though, it spends most of it's life sitting in traffic. But yeah it's killing me to see it so high. To give you an example, my 760 was averaging anywhere between 16.5/100 to 19/100...
