Hi guys
Think it's about time I started a thread for my 330d. Have the car for around a year now and still enjoying it!
Car is a 2015 Msport LCI spec. Has quite a bit of extras, lovely spec:
Got the car in April last year, was still under motorplan till September 2021, so I tried to make the most of it. Managed to get the following replaced:
- New rear shocks
- New brake discs and pads in the rear and new pads in the front
- New EGR valve
- Vibration damper done
- New stabilizer links
Car came out of motorplan on the 25th of September, downpipe was done on the 27th of September. Downpipe was done by Brad at Flowtech. I've been using them for years, from the time Brian was around. Quality is top class.
Towards the end of November I got the ZF gearbox service done at RNK Transmissions. The owner Ricardo was the technician at ZF in Durban, but opened up his own shop since ZF closed their workshop down.
After all the maintenance done I had peace of mind and decided to get the car tuned.
For years I've been using Nizam from Autotronics to tune my cars. Haven't had a single issue with him so I decided to take the 330d to him. The car now has a GTS Tuned Stage 1 map. Also did the EGR delete along with it.
I had also purchased a Blaze Performance stepped intercooler. Had that fitted recently by my friends at Kinetic Garage. The cooler made a big difference! Car feels great and a lot more responsive. Haven't retuned the car since fitting the intercooler, still enjoying it as is.
Future plans:
- Stage 3 XHP gearbox flash
- May consider putting a stronger map on the car
- Would like to lower the car a bit and add some spacers, but with the front lip already being so low it is a bit of a concern for me
