GoPro HD Hero 2 Motorsport video test

Ja, the viewfinder is really useful if you need to "set up" your framing, especially with the smaller FOV settings. Some say you don't really need it, but I use mine for work porposes, so it is a must for me. And really, once you have it, you wouldn't want to be without.

Yep, that's my feeling too - simply placing and assuming that things are framed properly, especially with the more narrow FOV is not ideal. Wow, so you use yours for work purposes - proves it's professional everyday toughness and versatility!!

Ja, the H.264 compression format is a bit lossy, and it does suffer a bit in the dark with noise/ grain (although again the new one's supposed to be better), but it does great for what it's designed for. Not technically broadcast quality, but combined with a body of broadcast footage as a cut-away camera, it's more than adequate. I know Fifth Gear are using it, as well as Ignition, and I, along with another company are hopefully covering the Mykonos Challenge Yatch Race (from CT to Langebaan) again this next year and we will be looking at aquiring a couple more of these to place on the boats to get some awesome footage.

The attachments are a bit wobbly, but the case has a universal fitting, so we can use it with our existing grips. I was doing a "Behind The Scenes" video on an ad shoot a couple months ago and decided to use the GoPro for some interesting walk-about shots using a little pole-grip we made up and the whole camera crew wanted to know more about this little thing...Such a cool gismo!

Yep, I noticed that the compression is a bit lossy, and also a few traffic lights it seemed to have trouble capturing the lights consistently, probably a frame rate/light frequency issue. But otherwise for it's size and lightweight design it's incredible I think!

Let me know if you'd like to come through and take a look at this one to compare!

There a number of specific places that sell this, try Orms and some other photographic places. Yep, the HD Motorsport Hero is the one to get!
