New 4 Series Goes Official

Guys, sorry but I have to ask, what is BMW thinking by bringing out such massive kidney grills and wait for it to be covered up by number plates, the grill is in itself really ugly IMO, but never before were the grills covered up- don’t know where bmw saw this one going...

I can see those grilles being loved if it was indeed the return of the 'shark nose' with them angled 'backwards' as opposed to forwards or flat as they are here. The same design cue that counts as a shark nose will look like buck-teeth if executed the other way.

Again though I think we are in agreement that this looks like each part of the car was designed by a different design house let alone designers

Totally agree, I also feel that they are trying to assimilate the Audi I am a beemer fan to the cores since I tooke some of my first rides in my dads bmw 535i, uncles 325i boxshapes but that new Audi grill the big and black looks mean, and in this case if I had to choose a brand and car based on grills I’d go with the Audi ...

I love the look, and I get where BMW is going with this. Looking forward to seeing one in person.

I did see this by Jonny Lieberman. The new 4 Series doesn't look that unique in profile. It could be an Audi, Cadillac or whatever coupe. https://www.instagram.com/p/CA-W6TpFs0u/

Looking forward to this though. I think there's a lot of potential for BMW to push this look as their own USP.
