So my updates have gone from monthly to quarterly , really neglecting the threads due to time constraints with things behind the scenes taking priority.

It's been a good 2019 thus far with a bit of development on the performance side, but I shifted focus frok power to the anesthetics again.

1st up was a proper clean up of the under carriage, suspension, engine bay and interior. I've always loved attenting to things myself, but as stated time has really not been on my side on this past year. However, when I cant do things myself, there's only one company and person I turn to and trust, and thats @mo@crazyridez.

The under carriage and suspension got a wheels off steam clean to get all the crap from the last 24 months off the car and just give her a refresher.

There after I decided to start getting some odds and ends done on the engine bay which have been eating my head up.

1st up was the windscreen fluid bottle lip. Over the years mines has decided to loose shape and wasn't closing properly anymore. Ordered a new one from Bmw and got this changed out.

Old one is black, new replacement one is blue.

Next up was the the engine cover badge. This also had slight chips with the clear coat starting to peel at the edges so I ordered a new one here as well from BMW.

The install is not as one would do a bonnet or boot replacement badge. For this badge is still daily simple, but required you to remove the entire engine cover.

Once off, you move the heat and dampening material slightly to access the clips of the badge itself, make them straight and the lift the badge off with a tiny flat screw driver. I normally put a piece of masking tape on the edge of the screwdriver to prevent scratching the badge.

Lift it off and place the new one making sure all the protruding ends go through the engine cover to the other side so that you can bend them to secure it in place. Really just a 5 minutes job but we'll worth the effort. Don't know why I waited 4 years to do it

Last thing that was done was a very small mod, but very necessary on the older E series as times goes on. The bleeder screw on the expansion tank is prone to either breaking or disintegrating, and I had just this issue in January, so decided to resolve it once and for all. Ordered some copper bleeder screws from ebay and got it swoped out whilst I was busy on the engine bay.

My wife wanted new mats for her car, so I thought it an opportune time to give her my performance mats, and get myself a new set.

Checked out the BMW Website and settled on a design which had the red accents. At the time, we were still in talks with abmw about becoming a partner and advertiser. However Nivs none the less hooked me up with a great price which no other dealership could meet.

I went one step further and ordered a boot mat from an F series and took the risk off seeing it would fit. Turns out it's does, not flush, but it's adequate and will assist in keeping my boot carpet clean.

Happy with the outcome

My 335 initially came with a CcC nav system which was Hella outdated. I came across a CIC and Gert did the install in 2017 I think it was. However the itch is always there

Decided to get with the times and update to Android unit. The install was fairly simple, with it mostly being a plug and play unit. Routing the wires just took a lot patience and swear words

Overall I'm happy with the entire setup, but would to add a reverse and dashcam.

Being a plug and play unit, all standard oem features work as they were, with steering wheel controls and all oem features still intact.

Routed the additional USB inputs to my glove box, kept all wired hidden away. The only plug that needed to be transferred over was the optical cable from the old harness into the new one.

Removed center trim, aircon and the 2 plugs behind it, and finally the radio. Also important to note is that one MUST move the gear level to neutral to drive so that there's enough space to work. One the radio is out, unplug the GPS cables harness and aerial out of the unit temporarily so you can work easily.

New hardesss plugs into the radio, with old harness connecting into it. Additional cables run on side up to the sat nav screen.

Remove the the 2 screws holding the screen in place and remove all plugs that pluged into it.

Once done, you can just fit the new screen and plugs all cables into their appropriate positions and reverse the install to finish up.

The screen is such a step up and one can change so many pare meters and setting to even look like the Nbt interface. The old interface is still accessible if required as well.

Thanks for reading

Nice one bro, I have had the same itch to update the e46 to Android.

Dismantling the dashboard is always frustrating, the work space is to cramped imo.
