X Drive is RWD bias in anyway and has the option to go RWD. There are no Rwd coming to Sa..everyone wants X drive to anihalate direct competition in all scenarios
There is a 22 X drive at Merc Centurion..9k mileage for 1.6m..you can bring him down to 1.55m atleast. They offered me that. Only negative is the tennis ball colour.. just cant get myself to spend 1.5m on a car. My F82 is more than enough fun..the car really can kill you..DCT Rwd at that weight is something to behold.

@Naruto do you have a budget of what you are willing to spend ? It's all good and well to say jump into a X-Drive Comp, but the reality is if your budget was R1mill, to finance & insure & then do general wear & tear on a car that's R500k+ more , it's not small change by any stretch of the imagination.

@Naruto Are you looking at the RWD of AWD version of the G8x ?
AWD allows you to be able to put down the power better and make better use of it. I feel if you go RWD it will come back to bite you at a later point if/when you want to get rid of the car... It's sort of like owning a manual sports car where manuals were not common.
Lots of people talk about wanting one, but people who are willing to spend the money are generally buying the auto.
I feel it's the same for the G8x, BMW offered it with xDrive for a reason.
I am not looking at purchasing a G8x but if I were I would 100% want it to be AWD and I personally would not consider the RWD model.
Even looking at the more 3L diesel engines like the 30d and 40d, after a simple downpipe and tune xDrive really helps with putting down the power.
If we look at comparing the G30 530d vs the G30 530d xDrive, the specs state that the RWD does 0-100 in 5.7s and the xDrive does 0-100 in 5.4s. Those figures are stock and with an engine which only makes around 180kw on the wheels. Also a claimed improvement of 0.3s when comparing the 540i RWD to 540i xDrive.
As jld said, the AWD is RWD biased and there are ways to make it "fully" RWD if you so wish but the extra grip & therefore performance you gain from AWD is almost a no brainer. As he said, the competition are mostly AWD as well and that is what majority of the market want and dare I say expect.

@Naruto depends what you are looking for they both awesome cars but give a very different feel. I own a F80 comp and have driven a dealership’s G80 RWD and a friends G80 AWD (albeit it was a 30-40minute drive) and I feel like the F80 is more direct drive , u feel the M car more, it is harder/stiffer suspension but it is an M car - you want that!
The G80 looks is a love or hate (It is growing on me but I am not quite there yet). When I drove it, it felt a lot more “smoother” if I can say than the F80 but did not offer the same driving experience as the F80 maybe it was the suspension or maybe I needed to drive it a bit harder Im not sure. People talk about it being a bit numb at times I guess that is it. It is probably more comfortable if u have a long commute to work in traffic but as the other guys mentioned, I think the RWD versions are the lesser loved and might drop in value soon while AWD version are in the 1.6m region so that is a big gap from a F80 with plan which will be roughly 1 bar. The other thing I noticed on the G80 is that they could have made the stock exhaust sound a bit louder but I like it loud lol! G80 was newer tech but in-car usage of tech wise you wont miss anything. I would love to get a G80 one day but as a buyer I would only look at AWD like most of the guys have said. Go drive them all and take ur time, it is a-lot of money so don’t rush it and wait for the one u want.
How are you planning to use the car? Mileage u will do per month etc?

Well as a dream car it will be driven on weekends or on the days where you want to live the dream 😁
I plan on using the 330d as my daily. It is a lot of money and I am taking my time with this.
Bro wait till end 2026...also..best bet would be the LCI with the screens. The prices should be around 1.5s for 2023s by then. Absurd but each to their own. Drive it hard for 2 years and sell. Keep mileage under 40km for best resale value.

You dont buy an F80 in todays market with your head.... You buy it by heart.
The f80 is harsh.... It creaks and makes noises in places you can get away from from.
Its kind of old now and they will need maintenance.
The prices will not go up from here and it will eventually start tanking as the g80s drop more.
I cant seem to spend around 1 million for a car that was around 1.3 million new.
That being said.... F80 is still a looker and i would buy one just to stare at it in my garage. That look will have a presence for years to come.
My heart still says F80 and i regret not buying one before jumping into a G Series.
G80 just has more pros than cons for me personally. Even the RWD has my vote. Having motorplan for a few years just means extra piece of mind. Fill fuel, buy tires and drive the hell out of it with no worrys.
They are just so quick stock, sounds amazing, much better balanced drive and i love the look with a few add ons.
Just seems more car for the money you spending if the extra cash is in your budget.

If your head is gonna be constantly banging on about resale value, and you not using the car just to keep mileage down, then rather buy a corrolla.
Buy the cab, enjoy it, be grateful for the opportunity to own it.

Absolutely fully agree..if you can afford the 15-20k per month car installment and have a stash of money ready for out of plan costs..then live for today and enjoy life. Screw the opportunity cost of investing the money in an appreciating asset..or "keeping mileage down" kinda thinking. Guess the problem is..would you derive a proportional enjoyment/satisfaction for the overblown price tag.

If this is gonna be a weekend car at R1.5m you're into 981GT4 territory. And if you prefer 911s there are a few 997.2PDK cars for sub R800k floating about.
I'd only go M3 here if it was going to be a daily. If not I really don't see the point.
