I'm seriously loving this thread. Having replaced one of my throttle actuators myself recently (I know that struggle of stripping to get down to the actuator :0)
So I have no idea how they say you're lazy :biglol: Impossible lol.

Thanks for that thread share stealth. Seeing that I only replaced one actuator the other ( God forbid ) is probably just holding up.
Will see if its cheaper going that route of getting the engineers to make those parts rather.

Hey man, you still have the old actuator? If you do I'd like to play with it in order to get it working. Mine's in pieces till we can get the models done right, which means my car don't work.

I'm planning on having a few sets professionally made so we can fix up your other actuator as well.

No unfortunately I don't have it :hammerhead: but I will speak to the guys who took it. Hopefully they still have it and I can get it back.

Sweet that's FLIPPEN awesome. How much will those parts set you back ??
Gosh I think everyone that's out of motor plan should think about doing this upgrade. Heck even guys on motor plan should do it undercover :cartel:

Yeah, price has not been determined yet to be honest. I've got a number I'm aiming for so let's hope it can be done for that. I'm thinking of doing 10 sets now and see how it goes.

Would be great if you can find the actuator. That's a little goldmine right there

Gert well done dude. This car is just in the right hands. Receiving the TLC it needs and requires to stay legendary :clapper:

A little more progress. The actuators have been thoroughly cleaned with slight lubrication on the gears. I want my car running ASAP so don't want to wait for the new gears...

The top loom and all sensors have now been reconnected and the engine service is now done. Interestingly the car starts, with no errors!! So that's good news

I've also received the modified muffler back and the welding work is pretty good. Bear in mind this mod didn't cost me a cent!:=):

I received the replacement bumper from Hussain last night so dropped it off at the panelbeaters this morning to be sprayed. Hussain went out of his way to source me a bumper, and he even met me half way for to collect. Over and above that, he's a very, very nice guy. Hussain, you.are.a.legend!! Thanks again for all your help!

I'm collecting the bumper tomorrow, so in prep for that, I removed the old bumper from the car. I then saw that the PDC sensors had a seriously horrible paint job as well, so I quickly dropped these off to be flattened and re sprayed as well.

So, this is where I'm at :roflol:

Still a looooong way to go. But it all looks good for me to be ready for Saturday. I've still got to do the diff oil change and clean all the parts in the engine bay before putting it all back together again.

Hehe, first run with the OEM muffler mod. I never went above 4k rpm. You miss the bass part in the video, but when my wife came storming in kakking me out for the noise I figured the test was a resounding success :D

And the diff oil has been changed as well. Picking up the bumper tomorrow then the car can come off the jacks. Once this is done I can do a proper detail on the Engine bay. I can't wait to take her on the road again!

Hehe thanks gents.

What I'm actually after is a set of Megan back boxes. I believe they are no longer represented in the country though. And shipping 45Kgs of piping is going to be silly expensive. Thing is, these boxes are only around $600 in the US and the really have this lovely, deep, sweet sound to them. Now THAT is pure sex!

Can't wait for the Wi-Fi to be installed, then I can watch too :)

You want to make me crazy bud, just now I might just jump on another bus only to see this car of yours in the flesh, but it will be a lot nicer though if I will be able to come there with the E30 and see if the old timer can still do the distance :clapper:

Heh, I'm having the time of my life with this project so far. I'm getting to learn new things and I'm getting results and this all on a car that is pretty special to me. I know I'm moving too fast getting things done, but I cannot help myself!

That sounds awesome. Seriously considering doing this as well

We must get together so you car hear it in the flesh. And I know a guy who knows a guy that can do this for you

You remind me of the energizer bunny with all you do:rollsmile:
Great work and this just reaffirms that I need to do the OEM zorst mod.

When you do end up replacing the gears on the actuator, please let me know the costs. I'm keen on doing this as well.

Great work once again:praise:.

Haha, if you think what I've done this far is like the energizer bunny, then you ain't seen nothing yet

I was a little busy today, as I want to get the engine bay nicely cleaned up.

I bet you guys thought that this was enough stripping...

Well if you did, you'd be wrong :roflol: To do it properly, you really need to get in there...

And the reason for stripping it this far? Well, it's for picking up little hidden gremlins like this:

In this case I'm glad I saw this, as this was blocking the engine bay drain hole. Flooded ECUs will be the result in a heavy storm.

^ Don't forget a potential spot for rust to occur. Talk about going balls deep!:clapper:

I see you also have a 4 legged appie...

Yeah, but he doesn't help. He just lounges around and bites me when he's hungry.

I figured I can do a quick before and after. Notice my custom made throttle body ingress prevention devices

It's a little dark, so will take more snaps tomorrow. Still need to clean the underside of the car, but I didn't feel like crawling in puddles of water. I also need to clean all the ancillary bits that I took off. And pick up my newly sprayed bumper, woohoo!

Condoms also work well.

Your progression is highly inspiring!

Yet another use for them here, I used them for coin bags when I ran out of the ones from the bank :roflol:

I think it's 10 years since I last saw an FL... I did, however, consider it. Would be a tough discussion with the missus though:roflol:
