Oh wow! :)

She bursts into life! Even the cameraman got a scare ;)

Relieved?

She sounds very clean and sharp :clapper:

Thanks bud. Yeah I am relieved. But truth be told, I'd be more relieved when I can get to drive it.

It's now been over two months, and I honestly never thought it would take me this long to get to this point.

Start your own business they say, you'll get to manage your own time they say. Since being on my own I've had less time to myself than I've ever had:blueCry:

As I get a gap today I'll be connecting up the water hoses so that I can run it for a little longer to get it up to temperature. I want to check for leaks and such to make sure I didn't screw something up along the way.

Slowly wins the race

Believe it or not, the motor was running while this shot was taken. It was the most agonizing 40minutes of recent history as I waited for the oil to get properly up to temperature and for the oil sensor to start taking readings. I'm happy to say the engine ran fine all this time and seems smooth and quiet.

I've also now received the refurbished AC dryer, so I could finish off all the radiators in the cradle and the cradle could be properly attached.

I'll check for any missed leaks once everything has cooled down nicely and do the final push to get all the ancillaries assembled so I can take it for a drive. Let's all hold thumbs!!

Getting there slowly but surely. Mine is back on the road too. Did about 650km last weekend on a South coast cruise.... it feels soooooo good.

Ghokay....

Figured I should tackle this at least

Once that was done and the ebox was nicely closed up, I figured I can push a little more. So I finished off all the trimmings by the window cowel.

I then figured there's still a little time, so I finished a little further

That got me wondering how she will drive? So I pushed on a little more...

And, for the moment of truth.... She drives, woohoo!!!

I went around the block... Twice! Man she's feeling good and strong. I'm a happy, happy man today. I missed her dearly, so she will become the daily from now on so I can put some mileage on her in order to get the bearings nicely run in.

Whew.

And yes Sean, I drove it without a bonnet:roflol:

I have read this thread from start to end many times and anyone who can pull off such an amazing project with this level of dedication and detail deserves a pat on the back.

Well done Gert, hope you enjoy her!
