Man, this M3 truly represents that saying "like new" many people use when making references to their used cars, in this case though, it may just be true.

Stunning E46, and well done for keeping the Restoration going.

Your story brings back fond memories of myself doing the exact same journey to cape town to get my e46 M3. Also did the drive back and can relate heavily to your experience and how awesome it was.

Congrats on your purchase and wishing you many happy and safe miles in your new baby.

Welcome to ///M town.
Thanks man - the drive back was truly phenomenal and even though I spent hours on the road I did not drive straight home when I got back to Centurion but instead did a few spirited runs all around the area.:smilebounce:

I think I am correct in saying that your engine recorded 160/165 psi compression when it was done in Durban as part of Adi's check.
@Peter@AEW What does these engines normally record from your experience?

I watched this and probably every other YouTube video related to the e46 M3 before purchasing my one:=):

It was a great morning out on the BMWFanatics Breakfast run and the drive to Harties was just what the M3 needed.

Oh My word, what a beautiful car!

I'm so glad this beauty is kept in pristine condition, how it should.

How this shape is aging beautifully.

and just to think i didn't like it when it came out.

Now each year, it just gets hotter and hotter.

:praise:

This is such a well conditioned, well kept example. Respect for keeping her this way, it really is such a pleasure to be able to appreciate the timeless design of these cars in a non-hacked state.

It’s been a while since my last update but not much has happened since then. I took the M3 to Durban in Dec 2019 before the pandemic started and thoroughly enjoyed it. Haven’t driven that much since the lockdown with an odd Sunday drive a couple times.

Interior wise I replaced a missing cap on the seat belt rivet.

New set of original valour carpets went in.

I replaced the oil, oil filter and added in some ceratec as an intermediate oil service.

The battery died in July so I replaced it with an original one.

The old battery was not vented so I decided to do that with the new battery. This little elbow was missing so I got a new one and connected it to the tube that goes out the trunk.

That’s about it. Here's a few pics I took over the weekend.
