Hey guys, not sure if anything like this is on here (Could not find anything) but thought I'd share, might be something that would be fun. Spotting fellow Fanatics in the wild or in other online content. If you do, maybe drop it here.

Anyway, long story short, noticed @Greenz here, around the 15:36 mark.

Supportive.

However, in era of POPIA, there may be some requirements to ensure privacy on certain aspects is maintained.
Eg. If Fanatic is photographed at their work place or at their kids school, etc...

However, if photographed on a public road or parking lot, I think that is fine?

Not a legal expert.

Agree and was also curious about this. Specifically when it comes to videos, not only around privacy but also around legal actions against some drivers. I understand that you're responsible for your own actions if you suddenly get the urge to whip out a burnout, join in a race or hit some donuts, but I do feel that all these content creators should blur out the plates on the cars at least. In theory they stash so much reckless cases against the drivers, but then again, I also have no idea if this can be held against you in court?

From my side though, should I ever come across a car it would take massive force to whip out a camera since I'm not that kinda guy. Besides that, the chances of me remembering specific cars is super slim unless they have something unique to them. Greenz in this case was the black on black ST and the Vader label.

Innocent public road or parking lot captures also seem fine to me, I won't mind it.

I shared a few pictures on this forum of other Fanatics cars and deleted one after a Fanatic asked me to.
The others seemed okay - as a courtesy, I just painted out the number plates.

I don't see any harm in a spotted thread but I guess the time has now passed for these kinds of things to be big. This has died down over time as facebook and tagging everyone+their dog became popular and now even that is no longer a thing. Facebook has basically become my birthday reminder system and occasionally Instagram stories will accidentally be crossposted/turned on :ROFLMAO:. Instagram peeps either don't tag you or get you to approve before posting. More people are aware of the dangers associated with it and it really isn't for everyone (especially if you have a high risk or rare vehicle). Friends just whatsapp a pic of the car if it's spotted usually and the owner ends up posting it and tagging whoever spotted it if they want to. When I have my 'visiting' cars I remove or blur out the owner's plates.

Then again, I could be totally wrong and this could be wildly popular on platforms that I don't use eg: TikTok, X etc LOL

Events are a different story since you're kind of expecting to be part of the content.

I'm pretty sure it's popular somewhere if I look at all the people, like in that video as an example, zombies running around with phones but I also don't creep around TikTok, X or Facebook for that matter :ROFLMAO: But yeah, events is a no brainer.

Not to sidetrack this but that McDonalds at N1 City in this video is a hard pass for me over the weekends, I love cars and casually walking around to see what some people do with them but once again there's a random bloody Audi driving up and down revving his shit the whole time, it's these kinda guys attracting the young sea cucumbers and too much attention causing most of them to get shut down.

I was super impressed though with the ST Crew later in the video with what seemed like a dyno day for them, none of them popping and banging for 20 hours straight.

There is no expectation of privacy in public space including what can be seen from a public space and photographed.

If memory serves me right there used to be a thread about this many moons ago when the forum was more active. Would be nice if it can pick up again following your thread.

I've been here for 2 years now and I'm still clueless.

Basically everything that isn't in the south is the north in my mind.🥲

I'm in the same boat, for the first time I just decided to Google it and I hope it's the right answer :ROFLMAO: Loads of ST Crew members here, I see them on a daily basis, "the loudest" being a blue one with Neon Green pinstripes all over, always thought it's a Golf thing to rev up like a lunatic while simply moving forward into a parking area or reversing out of it, seems he proved me wrong. He always does the ricer fly by too, full throttle and let off to make the turbo go "whoosh" next to me... very cute though.
