Hi guys

Doing a small introduction and pics of car all in one.
Recently purchased a BMW X1 as a family car... didn't want to go "full" SUV so decided on a smaller SAV (still not sure what exactly that means :=):)
So the idea of a family car was sold to the wife, and the all-wheel drive and 180kw is for me
It's a xDrive 28i motorsport (dodgy iPhone pics below)

Thanks for looking!

So give us some more feedback.

It is often rumored that the X1 should not have happened, and BMW screwed up with what is essentially a one series with some longer shocks and bigger wheels..

Whats she like to drive ?

M-Sport kit makes a huge difference on this car. 28i for the win. Very good looking vehicle there, you should give us a quick review after you've spent some time with it

ok, so quick review:
Handling
I think the fact that it's the xDrive (i.e. not sDrive) and motorsport makes the driving experience that much more engaging and fun. Because of the sports suspension, AWD, and 18's, corners can be taken at a decent speed and it feels as if the car is on rails. Steering feels "heavy", but not in a bad way… i.e. if you want to turn you need both hands and you feel as if you know exactly where you're going (not sure if this makes sense :))

Size
The X1's size feels just right… i.e. not too high like a SUV and not too low like a 3 series for example - personal preference obviously.
I've used it for Mountain Biking a few times and it seats 4 dudes fairly comfortably and tackles gravel roads with no hassles.

Engine
That 2litre twin turbo has a certain burble to it at low revs… In normal Drive mode acceleration is linear and gear changes are fairly quiet but still quick when you want it to be.
When in DS (drive sport) mode though, the engine definitely becomes more aggressive… Put your foot flat down and illegal speeds can be reached very quickly. I don't really use the "manual" mode.

Anything else i'm missing?
