And besides... They're all paid advertisements it seems. The recent M8 videos are just too obvious that he didn't buy the car nor is he spending money on the M accessories.

B is for Build as an example, the channel started off really well and now it's turned into a business. Zero care goes into making the cars actually drivable for more than the video series, they're then left to rot in the road in front of his house. (look at the Z4 he built with Tavarish if you need an example of something that was done just for views). I realize the entertainment comes from the actual build series however as a car guy, it's really difficult to overlook the shortcuts that are taken.
IMO greed from sponsorships has taken over, to the point where it's not even worth their time to try and sell the cars once they're done with them.

Yup nail on the head, many don't see the marketing exercise for what it is... The car itself, tools, parts.. Heck even the workshop gets sponsored.TurboLlew said:Kyle said:I've had this gripe with automotive YouTubers for a while now... Becomes less about content and more about maximizing views. 100%
And then you get some average joe that somehow thinks these happy go lucky idiots who are 'making these mistakes' or 'showing how easy it is' while selling cars for auction sites are just like them... then they go and buy the cheapest <insert money pit here> and dig a massive financial hole for themselves trying to also do this in record time. Pimp my ride effect for the 2020s.
At least now there are a few that have gone to the extent of showing how badly into a hole you can get and why you shouldn't buy one blind... These channels have sparked this phenomenon where people who have no clue are bidding on literal junk thinking they are going to have some 'amazing deal' on or even make money off of.
Anyone in the real world who has ever attempted a restoration or rebuild or mods of these kinds will tell you a very different story. Some of these projects, again 'in the real world' would cost someone (even doing labour themselves) several times more than just going and buying a decent car to begin with. It's obviously sponsor money and free parts.
