As the year draws to an end, I find it quite fitting to reflect on the year and update this thread:smilebounce:

Starting off with the BmwFanatics National Breakfast Run '17...the drive was a spectacular, and a decent turn out. Here are some pics that I snapped...

These arrived a few days later from CarbonSport...after months of searching:thumbs:

I test fitted them and they completely change the dynamics of the car (definitely worth it)...

On to some actual maintenance...Rear brake pads were almost worn out, so decided to replace them before the sensor worn out...kept things OEM and fitted a set of Textar Brake Pads...Simple DIY to start off with

textar 2_2292920476.jpg

Quality seems good, I have done about 1500kms with them, no squeaks or noticeable brake dust to complain about.

Okay back to the exciting stuff :smilebounce:
Had the car detailed at Supertech (3rd time I have used them, pretty happy with the workmanship especially once you consider the price and convenience of the service). After a wash, clay, polish and wax...this is the outcome:praise:

Next step was to finally brand the car with my free BMWFanatics stickers received on the breakfast run...

img_20171208_175452_5460376129.jpg

Even though the Carbon fiber splitters looked absolutely flawless, i decided to be bold and keep the gloss black theme of my car...Back to SMG, had the splitters finished in gloss black and fitted...and i can say without a doubt...#noregrets :inlove:

img_20171216_144747_1788374907.jpg

In between getting the splitters painted and fitted, I had to replace a tyre (really bad uneven wear)...surprisingly Supertech were the cheapest by R500:hammerhead:

Planned on attending the SABeemer Breakfast Run...and it was time to treat my seats to some care...They were pretty clean to begin with, but once again...pretty happy with the outcome (used Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather)...

Clean on the left...

Reflection is always good...

A Big Thanks goes out to KPM_330 for the OEM AW slimline spoiler...perfectly contrasts the car on the whole and complements the gloss black diffuser :praise:

All in time to attend the SaBeemer Breakfast Run...

img_20171217_134212-01_9298084094.jpeg

And lastly, used the car to the South Coast for the Christmas Weekend...

2017 was a good year in terms of visual mods, overall reliability has been good and just yesterday I hit 80k kms...hopefully 2018 goes well:tiptoe:

once again, hope you guys enjoyed the scroll :ty:

Looking amazing bud.

I love the gloss black touch... maybe extend to the mirrors and boot spoiler (just a thought)

But even without... still a job well done

So i kicked off 2018 with some maintenance, been experiencing some slow oil leaks around the oil filter housing, first noticed it in dec 2016, when approx. 0.5l of oil leaked out the morning of my oil service:skit:...took the car to SMG Durban to carry out the service and sorted out the filter housing...all was fine...few months later, noticed some oil consumption (1l every 3000 kms), and the oil filter housing was leaking again...back to SMG Durban as the work was under warranty...they put in new seals and gave me a "nice" repair estimate for the cause of the leak...which was apparently a blockage in my engine cover which was causing a build up in oil pressure hence the leak out the housing...the quote was +-R12k:roflol: (R4500 was just the cover which had a 2 week waiting period since it had to come from the boys in Germany)...Anyway, car was driving fine, no leaks on the floor so I let it be...

However I was not happy with this, so decided it must get sorted out:thumbs:.

Took the car to Don @ TheBmwWorkshop, straight away we established that the engine cover is not the issue...and I gave the go ahead to replace both oil filter housing seals, both camshaft sensor seals and clean solenoids and replace all four seals...Oil leaks are gone (still monitoring) Car is adapting but already the fuel consumption has dropped by +- 1.5l/100kms.
And all of this at a fraction of the cost:bravo:.

Next up is an oil service which is scheduled for next week :hammerhead:

No pics this time around:thumbdo:

Some decent rolling shots, just a bit unfortunate that my angels eyes were not captured properly (only disadvantage with LEDs and their refresh rate).

Januwory update...

so unfortunately my place of employment does not have a splitter friendly driveway...so the car has been baking in the sun:thumbdo: (plans to resolve this in motion)...anyway whilst driving home after a scorcher day, I heard a loud 'ting' noise at around 30kph...Turns out my Hood emblem (which showed no signs of any imperfections) decided to fly off:hammerhead:

img_20180118_173227_253371079.jpg

Absolutely disgusted...Sourced a replacement the next day...fitted...and gloss blacked...All is well again:thumbs:

hey Riaad,

Love what you did with the car. to be honest, I actually was hhoping you got the LCi in the end...lol!

my dream spec of the LCi is exactly what you have, was praying for a 330d in that spec when I was buying again. Love the way you are treating her and looking after her.

Safe driving bud! The car is EPIC!

A Quarter through 2018 with Nothing much to report...

Finally fitted my brake pad sensor a few weeks back (quite a simple task), no oil leaks to report after 3 months (around 3000 kms) just a decent oil consumption of 500ml over that period (looks like TheBmwWorkshop has resolved what SMG could not:thumbs:).

I also received the pics from the Photo Shoot a month back...Some of my favorites (the resized for the forum pics:hammerhead:)... do enjoy:smilebounce:
