those look cool, the only problem with those particular rings is that they don't look like they will fit an E46 as they don't have the straight part at the top so you will see a bit of the halo out the top of your lights? those look like the rings for the Golf MK1.

these are the ones for the E46

Unless there is some special way to fit those ones into an E46?

Just a suggestion: consider blacking out your headlights
ie. spray all the chrome black, less reflection off of the shrouds & halogen housing.

I am definitely considering it, I will try plastidip as if I don't like it I can peel it off easily lol

for those deciding between LED and CCFL angel eye rings, here are some pics of the LED types. i am sure there are a lot of CCFL pics and knowledge out there.

my opinion is that LED are better because they are:
1. longer lasting
2. no added extra parts that can fail (ballasts)
3. do not reflect light off the shrouds and blur the AE's
4. can do the fade in and fade out thing with them
5. not fragile and easier to package and ship to you guys

although they could work for a 325ci??

Here is Halo LED on right hand side and CCFL on Left hand side, but these CCFL look like shit, they warm white and very dull compared to the ones in my car.

I'm considering this but sow does blacking out the halogen shrouds affect the light as there is no more reflection off the shrouds??

No no if you don't have projectors then don't black them out, you will have extremely little light output! I don't use the reflectors at all as I installed bi-xenon projectors.

yah, there are a lot of advantages to LEDs regarding packaging, especially the no ballasts

Let me know if it works, I considered it but there's a small chance it might get too hot. HIDs are known to heat up, maybe it's only low quality ones though?

Vsomai's pics were for an E90 I think.

The thing is that you don't have to spray the main reflector black as the shroud covers that anyway which is what you spray black, the reflector that the high-beam usually emits light from will no longer be in use because of the bi-xenon, so spraying it with plastidip will be fine :)

i am in favour of this option but there are many that will not even consider it. they say that it looks too far away from OEM. each man to his own. for this type of people there is LED.

Thanks guys for the feedback

I lamenexed the headlights now, but im not completely sold on the idea yet! and its obviously taken the brightness of the angel eyes right down :(

I would prefer to find some clear laminex, makes my kak sandblasted lights look like new again lol.

anyway I will post some pics of the laminex and see what you guys think.

look good - how can I give my E90 with xenons angel eyes a boost - fitted led globes - useless in daylight

So this weekend I thought stuff it, I am unable to go the LED angel eye route as no one is able to get them so I bit the bullet and went CCFL, I managed to get a cool white version which I could never find before, and was able to test them out before hand so I bought and installed them.

More photos will come later today when I take some photos during the day.
These things are extremely bright! You could almost drive without your main beams on lol!

The Red lenses are a result of the painted cut offs reacting to the camera flash! the main beams are not switched on in this pic.

Anyway pics are good for the soul so will add some more later
