One request to forum members, if anyone comes across a VIN higher than 171 please let me know, the list runs cold after that so I have serious doubts the full 204 complement were even made. Basic statistical theory would surely give at least one high number hit?? (maths gurus please) It would make sense though as the homologation requirement no longer existed in 1987 as the formula it was created for was canned in '86 and BMW SA took up the Shadowline cars in GpN. The original dealer microfische data puts 98 cars for 1985 and no data for after that. Auto Data digest figures are just garbage, unless the numbers were built but the cars went elsewhere!

The toolkit is not identical to the 323i, the sponge holder is different, Alpina specific for the wheelkey and wheel lock plug extractor. Some more useless info, the Gedore flat spanners are "Made in RSA" up to 1988 when the factory stopped production of them and they became "Made in Germany" so essentially all Trips should be localised flat ring spanners.

The tiny white one is mine

And yes, the windscreen is a bit "weathered" but it still has this
