Hey guys, first time BMW owner. Bought two weeks ago. 77600km on the clock.

Where was the e46's that came to SA Built?

Sorry for asking. Never heard of a Euro spec before. What was the difference to the others that are in SA?

Its not euro spec, it's Japanese spec. You can tell because it has an emissions pump next to the windshield washer bottle and will also have 4 oxygen sensors (2 pre-cat and 2 post-cat) instead of the usual 2 (pre-cat).

Sounds awesome... This, coupled with Alex's three reverse gears and backwards turbo would make for the fastest reversing BMW ever made :)


Trolling aside, welcome to the forum. Not a fan of matt covers but this one looks pretty decent.

Most BMW's in SA will say "EURO SPEC" when you enter the VIN into a decoder. Not sure how this affects the locally made three series models though...

I did a quick google, apparently only some of the 325i's were made in Rosslyn, the rest in Germany.

Emission standards were far more strict in Japan vs Europe at the time.
