discussion Bimmerpost unreachable?

Hi all,

Is anyone able to reach Bimmerpost? I can't seem to connect to it, not sure if it's a me issue or something else. Specifically trying to reach this page:

use a usa VPN and you should be able to get in, something like Proton VPN.... Not sure why they are Geo Blocking countries

I tried this (expressVPN) ...didnt work.

some reddit posts suggested that it works via mobile browsers - also didnt work.

I'm unable to access their site from any network, be it on my mobile phone, at office and home wi-fi.

Turn off you p**n VPN first then you will be able access it ha ha ha!

It hasn't worked for a while for me no matter the connection or whether it is on VPN or not. I will give proton VPN a try later.

They might have turned on settings to avoid being scraped by LLMs or search engines that is affecting us? Strange that some of you can access it fine but also hard to believe a site of that size would just disappear.

EDIT: These are not region-specific so should not be locked out, but could be affected by a general setup issue or anti-scraping measure perhaps.

Just tried from proton vpn, works with Mexico and USA servers, free version of the app does not allow you to choose the vpn location you want, it just random selects, so might not be the best solution

It looks like its ASN Geo Blocking, mostly likely just setup badly often security teams get it wrong, problem is they don't seem to give a hoot about these issues

I thought this was only me! I have been struggling with this for quite some time now and it's seemingly very sporadic. On a random day that I am looking at F22 wheel inspo it works but on another very crucial 11th hour/time sensitive niche coding issue I'm having on the E chassis, it refuses to let me in.

I thought this was a known issue and they were working in the back end to fix it as I managed to connect on one particular day but I had to go through a screening procedure.. if that's what it takes I was fine with it, however, this was short-lived.
