Retro fitting Adaptive LED on G01 X3

Hello everyone

How complicated will the process of fitting adaptive LED headlights on an x3 be? When it comes to sourcing the lights is it advisable to order from BMW direct which I know will be extremely costly? I see there are quite a few pairs being advertised on Facebook marketplace - is it frown upon to purchase parts from guys like these?

BMW will charge you a Kidney. I've seen guys get the rear lights from China for about 15k a set, but I'm not sure if it's OEM or just a really good copy.

With regards to buying on Facebook, that'll be the cheapest and you'll probably get an original, but... a lot of them are stolen, some are legit and come from insurance write-offs, accident damage cars etc, but you have to be careful and evaluate the seller.

A few other things to consider:

- coding - the way I understand it, if you reuse the module from your current light it should work
- wiring - make sure your current vehicle has all the necessary sensors, controls, and wiring to accommodate the Adaptive LED's


this is from my limited knowledge as I was thinking of changing my Standard LED's to Laser Lights on my G05 but decided against it as it's like 30k for a set on Facebook and all the sellers look dodgy

Yes I’ve seen a couple non OEM LCI style taillights going for about 11k - They look decent

Exactly my thinking with the Facebook guys - They look very sketchy so that is putting me off.

Apparently you need to attain the new module for the adaptive LED’s maybe someone can correct me on that one. I’m probably going to look into some of the Facebook marketplace ones

I have read that BMW made an official retrofit kit for the g30's adaptive LED's (part nr:63 13 2 455 650) but they do cost an arm and a leg (2500 euro I think), but it is oem and will work like the car came with it from factory, so maybe google about a similar kit for the g01?
