Did a trip to Champagne Sports. If the weather was better I wouldn't be posting just yet, but here we are LOL
Roads were quite poor and of course got progressively worse as we got closer to the resort. There are now occasionally potholes on the actual N3. There are still sections of road that you really shouldn't be doing in anything low, but if you're careful you will make it. There are car-destroying potholes throughout the route, most of which the local government seems to have helpfully marked with yellow paint rather than repairing or resurfacing the roads

With the volume of rain we had on this trip, there were sections with cars slipping and sliding trying to get up mud/gravel sections (we had to leave the N3 sooner than usual because of crashes)
There were a couple of weather related crashes as well as one that seemed to be the result of sheer stupidity (Truck went over the bonnet of a small crossover but folks seemed to be ok)
The Porsche/Touareg itself performed very well. While it is no M5 in the power department, it didn't struggle to overtake and was generally very comfortable and capable - especially for something so old.
The Pioneer wireless carplay unit was definitely appreciated and a mild sound upgrade is coming soon. I wanted to get a system professionally installed but DIY is the way to go for me on this one, since people seem to quote as though they are doing sound in a brand new 3 bar Porsche

Thiren and Neven have both sent me down some interesting rabbit holes with their insights from their own projects.
More to come soon
