Nice one on the trim piece.
That fresh M logo makes all the difference to the quality feel of the interior.

Great work Vince!

The shark is looking proper, just need to see it with a set of M6 wheels to bring it all together.. ;)

Small Update:

Very happy with the way the car sounds, with the odd exhaust crackles. (No Pops & Bangs). Captured too on the BP garage exit (at the last Breakfast Run).

Fixes:
Steering trim
Wanted to address the notorious BMW soft texture peel off. I started with respraying the current trim. It came out okay, per below

The perfectionist in me won this internal argument, so ordered a new trim set from ABM, Deago came to the party.

See the differences below, especially around the M logo

Bluetooth
I had forgotten to update on this. Maybe listening to music easier, the bluetooth connection is super strong, can play clearly with the phone anywhere in car. Also, has a sleep functionality, to save on battery. Its automatic link, connection each time I get into the car (seamless). Only issue is that you can’t see track info on Car screen (only shows “Aux”. You have to change albums on phone. Luckily, I play my own playlists (which are long enough for trips).

Nothing beats new trim, on mine I managed to clean of all the old soft feel, and just left it :)

Does the Bluetooth have its own power (rechargeable battery?

Oh.., and the exhaust note is epic....love it.

Thanks Sash, was great meeting you in person.

The bluetooth has an internal battery, last 16 hours playtime. I can keep in the car for two three weeks.

Same here.

That's battery life is impressive. Will look into it.

Oh and you have the Sports Auto Transmission, it's a zf 6hp with the improved software and the sport button

Nice finally meeting you at the Run Uncle. The car is impressive and a beauty.

Sounds damn good as well.

If those mirrors of the e63 are the same as e60...I may be able to offer you a deal on a set of carbon mirror caps.

Hit me up once you decide.

Updates and Progress:

Coolant Issue

The coolant issue still there, still not a concern as yet but since I have received parts from Deago, I just need to make time to install.

When I was collecting the parts at BMW Midrand, saw this beauty of an M car. Snuck in a single shot.

Oil Service
Oil service was due, changed at 9 000kms. More like taking advantage of prior public holidays as my oil change interval target is 10 000kms. As usual, used Liqui Moly oil and BMW filter.

Some Snake Oil
Used some snake oil from Liqui Moly for Fuel system cleaning. Don’t know why I bought it - it's one of those things when you buy parts and they ask "anything else for you sir", you quickly scan through the counters to see what else catches your eye. I have no idea if it works, no negative effects thus far, which is okay. I think I will add every 3rd oil change?

Bumper Realignment
The long overdue bumper realignment was finally done. Don (Pro-fix Auto body)
provides great service. If you need his contacts, pls DM me.

When fetching the car from Don, asked the owner of this mint Sapphire Black 325ci to accompany me….had a two cars run from there which was epic! He did a few things to it!

Start Stop Button
In hindsight, this wasn’t really necessary. See before and after pic. There is a slight fade on letter A and R. Anyways, was a quick change.

Outstanding Items

Alignment

I need to do alignment, been disappointed at a few places, so will try out Fourways Tyremart based on the forum feedback. Please do let me know if you know of good alignment places. I don't have the energy for multiple visits for the same thing.

Upholstery
When you think you are done, new issues pop up. Need to address this pillar, the material is loose towards the bottom, probably needs to be re-glued, I don’t know…luckily not urgent, but need to get to it. Welcome recommendations

The bluetooth audio has been a welcomed enhancement, doesn’t hiss or make funny sounds. I would recommend though can be frustrating if you want to change tracks, as you must use your device for it. To alleviate the pain, I created downloaded playlists

So far, its been an absolute bliss, from the engine start to the unmistakable V8 growl, the active steering helps make it drive like a smaller car though it is big in size, eg. It is 18cm longer than F32 440i and 20kgs heavier though smaller than F13 650i (74cm shorter and 85kgs lighter).

From now on, no major updates besides sweating the asset (get my money back )….Put in a lot, time to pay back the money through endless driving!

I might let the 330ci go, to make physical space for next acquisition……mhhhh (rubbing hands)

Thx for reading!

Forgot to add that I replaced the battery

Battery prices have skyrocketed. To give a sense of this: during covid time (2020) I bought a new 658 battery for my 330ci, paid R4k…fast forward to today, they sell for R6.8k - R7k.

Grateful to better pricing from ABM (Deago).

This car is getting excellent care!

I dont know if it is a placebo effect, but I always chuck in a can of injector cleaner when I service my cars, makes them more responsive. Reviews have also found that they dont really work to free a blocked/clogged injector, but it will clean a lightly dirty one.

I found similar effects too; better throttle response. its also cheap. I will alternate between the fuel system cleaner and injector cleaner.
