The bumper is sorted. Auto Magic painted and fitted a brand new OEM front bumper. No more of that peeling paint.

Windscreen was replaced today due to a chip and a slight crack. Fitted a bmw approved windscreen through Windscreen Direct.

Just bought a new splitter to replace the cracked splitter. Cf weave is different to the other so I've sent it to my spraypainter to paint together with the mirror caps, boot spoiler and diffuser.

Loving the performance now with the 17s.

My sack ! What a thread.
Can imagine the affair u have with your ride bra, so letting her go can't be easy.

Yes the 17's don't look as hot (still good tho) but I'm sure u lure a lot more unsuspecting chaps into a hiding with that look

Thanks bud!

Lots more wheelspin with the 17s. Getting uncontrollable at some times. Wet weather not helping.

Will go 18s soon though. 17s are too small. My car looks odd.

Hello again,

Its that time of the year when the 330d excels at transporting and commuting. Not a beat missed, she held on for hours on the road, in blistering heat through torrential storms and the sea air/due.

This year, again, family and I had to head down to Durban for a wedding on the 14th of December. My wife and daughter flew down the week before, i drove down on the 13th all alone. 1 tank of 10ppm Sasol, averaged 6.7L/100km as i was driving through the night and the roads where very quiet.

I was chatting with Yulz via Whatsapp before i left for Durban and arranged for my car to be pampered at OCD Detailing. Yulz fetched the car on Friday evening and started preparing for the detail the next day. I was kept in the loop throughout the day. The car was then delivered to me at my gran's place. I was amazed... I kept the car in great condition (if i may say so myself) but i was really impressed when i saw it after Yulz and Kyle where done. The paint looked wet, the interior looked fresh and the engine looked new. As soon as i saw it, i cancelled the viewing of the 2 cars i had planned to see and possibly trade the 330d in for one of them. Thanks Yulz, the job was sterling and you have a happy if not ecstatic client. I will give Yulz the privilege of explaining what was done and what was used.

Pics after the detail:

Above was the as soon as i took delivery...

The rest where the day after, after being driven...

Reflections:

Will post more soon... Sorry for the Crappy cellphone pics!

Headed back home today, ended up driving though some crazy rain yet when i reached the BP 1km away from home to buy bread this is what the 330d looked like. I had not washed the car since Tuesday...

Overall, consumption spiked in Durban due to some spirited driving. Upon arriving at home, i had just less than half tank and a range of 552km remaining. 6.2L/100km was the overall trip average. Aircon on most of the time, the trip back was a full boot with 3 passengers and my 3 year old.

Epic 2 week break... Now to get back into routine!

Enjoy

Thanks Divio... I agree, even after a simple wash today with the Adams products i purchased from Mo the car looks like it was just detailed. The dirt glides off with the Karcher and beads beautifully.

Here are some pics after just a wash and dry. No detail spray or polish used.

This is what was done:
I chose an enhancement detail:

The car was washed with maxi suds 2, and clayed with turtle wax clay products.

It was then treated to a 1 step polish with Menzerna PF2500/ menzerna yellow pad combo

Wheels were cleaned with AF imperial wheel cleaner, clayed then sealed.

The entire body was then sealed using Chemical Guys Jetseal 109, which is an incredible product.

Seats and dash were cleaned with BMW leather cleaner, and conditioned using BMW leather lotion.

Finally the engine bay was cleaned using APC and dressed with megz trim detailer.

Divio, please post the links to the Overseas appreciation of the SGM?

Very nice bud!!!

Dunno about your detailers though. :biglol:
Just kidding :)

Just one thing. I see a lot of guys using Kleen Green for cleaning engine bays and what I've seen APC do in an undiluted concentration is quite amazing. Personally I think its a bit strong for its purpose

Just my 5c. I still think the detail was really well executed. Use some Iron out next time :)
