The New BMW 1 Series

Morning Guys,

So there are some new deets on the new up and coming 1 Series, so we know that BMW has decided to move away from the rear wheel drive system to favour the front wheel drive system and the xDrive all-wheel-drive system for the flagship model which will be the M135i again and no longer the M140i. Output figures will be 225kw from 2.0 turbocharged 4 pot :fencelook:.... Eish, I for one am a little disappointed there will no longer be a 6 cylinder 1 series as the flagship. mgwaiting:

this is an embarrassment to the m135i and m140i the main reason for buying the 135 was rwd straight 6 in a practical hatch body now that's completely gone???:dunnoanymore:

In my opinion the GTI is the king of the fwd market and nobody will ever beat a GTI

Reading the article it sounds like the normal 1 sereis will be fwd and the M135i/M14oi will be awd

Not to sound like a M***** but

if you drive your car everyday, as a daily. Does it really mater if its FWD or RWD? I have been driving lots of FWD and I also have a C350 RWD and in everyday traffic or popping to the mall and back... you can't really feel/see the benefits :dunnoanymore:
