The dream car you should drive (e46 M3)

I still remember seeing the e46 M3's when they first came out, back then it was my dream car and I knew, in fact I vowed that I would one day have one. That day came in 2011 when I bought one, which I then sold for some or other unknown reason. Well earlier this year I managed (in a pretty roundabout fashion) to correct my past mistakes by again adding an M3 to my collection, which I won't be getting rid of any time soon. Now being on my second one I can safely say that the old adage of "Never meet your heroes/ Never drive your dream car" definitely does not apply to the e46 M3, it is the dream car that you should drive. The best word that I can use to describe the overall experience is, intoxicating.

So this latest addition is a 2003 model in titanium silver with a grey interior and with mileage sitting ever so slightly north of 210k km and it has had a load of work done to it before I took ownership of it. It has a whole load of small niggles that will to be sorted out over time as is usually the case. The biggest thing I have done so far is to redo the VANOS solenoid as it started giving issues a while back.

With that said on to some photos:

Aside from that front bumper, this car looks so so clean, well done on the purchase and enjoy her in good health:thumbs:

i actually wanted one of these really badly. around 2010 a friend had one for sale. it was the SMG version and he had put coilovers etc on it. it looked sweet so i took it for a drive a few times. the power was bloody serious, it felt awesome on the road, but that tinny engine sound just didnt agree with me.

two years later i found a 330ci, and bought it immediately. sure, its not as hardcore as the M3, but it is alot more chilled/refined for daily use imo. the 330ci costed ALOT less too. dream cars are relative to owners personalities :)

sadly i saw that same M3 end of last January at a garage. the owner traded it in for second hand X3. i went and checked it out, the motor was apparently KO'd and the SMG pump was gone too. they didnt have much info on the engine problem, but they did say the engine wouldn't turn over even by hand.

Stunning car... Happy many miles...
I love the colour and that it has been kept original...
I love the E46 M3 but my preference is the drop top...
