That's really high for that car, I get 13,9l/100km with my GTi and thats with a very heavy foot lol ALso when it comes to petrol choice, for me shell seems to be the best for consumption and performance

I drive 4km to work in a F20 125i, that's the same engine and I average 9.2l/100km. Only time I see a motorway is on a Sunday.

Something is most definitely wrong with your car.

My dad has a f30 320i manual. Car does 90% short trips, in stop start traffic, and has settled on 9.1 l/100km.

I travel 7.8kms to work, and even in winter my car is up to temp before I'm halfway there, and I do only city driving.
Its only when I put the heater on that the temp will stay low because its using the engine temp to warm the cabin.

Off topic, but interesting.. The WATER is up to temp but not the engine. The Z4 M only has an oil temp gauge and that shows that the ENGINE takes much longer to get 'up to temp'. 2c's..:=):

Been driving VERY "old-toppie-style" the last few days, but gun it every now and then when I want/need to, all the way up to the red line, and my baby is standing on 10.8l/100km now. Remember like I said, 7.8kms to work and back, and Thursday my kid had softball championship away at another school, and yesterday she had a party, so some extra driving there, none of it highway...not too bad I think for my 325 at all. :rollsmile:

Well on my F30 320d it takes at least 19min before the engine oil is up to temp :dunno:

Somehow these figures can't be correct either - how can urban and extra urban figures for the manual be quoted the same for the manual 320i?
I would like to know how accurate BMW's officially quoted figures really are....

ok fine its not as pretty or as fast... but still...

it sounds almost like the ect sensor is poked and the ecu thinks that its still cold and fuels for the cold start....

my mates old man get 5l/100km from his f30 320i 8 spd...

bro i seriously hope you get this sorted out... this could ruin your BMW experience and thats just not right...

In town I get around 10 litres per 100, never seen the figures you are talking about. There was someone else that mentioned the intake pipe on their 320i not being connected properly...Keep bugging the dealership and make it their problem.

Wow. My e46 M3 isn't even that bad. I'm sitting on 12.7l per 100km. Something definitely not right there man. 4 pot turbo car should not be using 14l per 100km. Not unless you are raping the car day in and out...

I only see that number when I drive like a complete hooligan for a full day.

I flog the M3 a lot, admittedly - and its consumption is generally pegged around 18L / 100km... :rollsmile:

if your in Cape Town , take your car to Garage 808 in bellville , they sorted my car out when SMG couldn't , they are an accredited BMW garage so they work under motor plan:idea: as well.

I have a 325i e90 and i floor my car at every opportunity and i get 10.5l/100kms

a buddy here at works consumption is also around 13L/100km, but it's the 125 auto, he tried the nitro from shell and it came down to 11.5
