Greg :praise: that is one awesome car, very nice colour and I like the touch to the number plate. How come you have the chrome beading around the windows?

Thanks Johan. Sorry. Only saw your reply now. It is interesting that the car has the chrome beading. From what I can gather from the history of the car, talking to some guys at BMW and from the spec sheet, is that this car was speced with all the M trimmings originally, but at the time of the cars manurfacture, the facelift "M-Sport" cars had not come out yet. Once it landed here in SA, the M-Sport bumpers were apparently added at the Rosslyn plant, so the car ended up with the chrome trim. Making it probably one of the first LCI M-Sport E39's. Well, thats what I like to believe anyway. Definately unique. At first I did wonder if it was just added on by someone later, which may have been the case, but the fact that all the right ducts are there and done correctly, and the fact that the sticker dates on those parts are around the date of registration, points to a factory fitted job.
