Hi Guys,

Just to be clear, as many have already mentioned, Ashley read the car sent us a stock read and datalog. There was also a downpipe fitted by Ashley.

Thereafter we replied with our Stage 2 map which he loaded sent a datalog done on the road.

Another revision was sent back, which he loaded as logged again. All was in order and there were no issues at this point visible in the logs or brought to our attention.

With regards to the map surpressing fault codes. The only code suppressed is for the decat which is Catalyst Inefficiency (180001)

We do have a new agent in Cape Town who's been operating for years the industry and has been servicing our customers then there October 2025.

Was this car also accident damaged before?
Your fender liners are missing as well as the cowl covers?
No, Only the one side was missing. Im sure covers do go missing.
Im only the 2nd owner of the car and had a check done, full report from BMW and inspection done on the car before purchasing. Pretty sure it has not

Then this basically kills the entire claim that he messed up on the sensors. Thanks for the feedback!

Do you guys mind sharing some info on the new Agent? Selfies, BIO, location etc for everyone on here in Cape Town. Maybe a new Thread so we don't derail this one 🤭

Given your response I really do not understand how the car developed gremlins induced by the mechanic?

Something does not make sense to me.

This vindicates Ashley IMO, so why did Xcede HQ pull the plug on your associate so aggressively? Seems some context is missing...

Also, ya'll redaction effort is akin to Trump's DOJ - you're doxxing OP pretty hard in more than one screenshot

Agreed, however Fender liner and cowl covers don't just come off unless there was some harsh pressure to remove these items. Fender liners are removed on purpose for repairs or suspension failure or pothole etc.

cowl covers come off with intent too.

Just checking.

Can't speak for the CPT Xcede, but my car has been tuned 4 times now by Xcede in the last 1.5 years (30k km travelled since first tune). Each time after hardware mods were done by Xflow and have had zero issues with the JHB one where my car has gone. Sherwin, Juvan, and Alister(Xflow) I rate them so high I get into arguments with my friends who back other companies (357, 1312, etc.) :ROFLMAO: .

Very unfortunate what happened, and I would be interested to know the details of what happened. @Teezoh has made valid points. Something isn't adding up about the OP's story. And Xcede's quick comment about Ashley not being affiliated anymore is also a bit iffy. Regardless, though, Xcede JHB has been GREAT to me. My PWG N55 640i has been turned into something amazing, which friends in G42 M240i and M cars are impressed with when they drive it. And I can sit in comfort and Eco getting 8 litres per 100, and no one would know the car is tuned.

Interested to see the thread by Xcede about this if it gets made.

I’ve been trying to keep up with this thread and noticed a few comments referring to my earlier reply to the OP — some almost baiting me to share more about my experience. My experiences date back to late 2022 and early 2023, I don’t have proof, and I’m mindful that this could derail the OP’s topic.

When I was new to Cape Town and knew I’d eventually start modding my car, I also knew I’d need a reputable workshop. Being part of this community, I had high regard for Xcede Performance based on the positive feedback and work shared by forum members.

That said, customer experience ultimately shapes the level of comfort (or discomfort) someone has when deciding to entrust future business to a workshop. I have nothing personal against the former Xcede CPT — I had my experience, drew my own conclusions, and moved on. Based on the OP’s post (again, debatable and open to strong counter-arguments), I can’t say I was entirely surprised given my own experience. If we want to be precise, this is simply my opinion, and there’s probably little value in dwelling on experiences from over three years ago.

At the end of the day, everyone shares their views in the interest of the community. From my perspective as a potential long-term customer, my few experiences just didn’t leave the best impression, which is ultimately why I chose to move elsewhere.

I never really go off reviews because I have noticed everything is based on personal experiences.

People are very petty individuals. I used to take my Kawa to TRD Boksburg. Received great service until they replaced the guy at the parts section. He treated people like crap. I forgot all about the excellent service department and how friendly the owner is and wrote off TRD as a whole because of one guy in the parts section they hired to run it.

People who never interact with that individual or got lucky and got good service from him will praise TRD. Me? Nope.

A WA group I’m in had an individual badmouthing Xflow performance saying their car was basically destroyed by them etc. my experience is the opposite, I don’t trust anyone with my car except them.

Citipower Randburg has a rating of less than 2 out of 5. Every time I have gone there I have been helped a ton.

Point I am making is, it’s all individual experiences. Until one gets in the shoes of another person you will never know what they experiences and how they interpret the things that happened and the events that follow.

At the end of the day, people must find what works for them. I don’t listen to people anymore in such regards as what they say is always clouded in hidden information and most cases, lies. If you happen to get that experience then that is your truth, but to someone else it is not their reality.

Such is life. Might have rambled on a bit too much.
