I inherited a 2004 Mini Cooper S, from another workshop. Car was butchered and missing complete cylinder head, sourced everything & assembled by the book with new timing chain kit the works.
Problem is when I tried to start the car, I noticed NO fuel pressure (Pump is running), Checked and found that an aftermarket fuel pump has been installed but pipe inside tank wasn’t connected. Now it got fuel pressure, but will only start/stumble and die, Bought another aftermarket pump, No difference.
Now it gets interesting, IF I swop the INTAKE TMAP with PRE-Supercharger MAP and only connect manifold sensor, it starts & idles fine, there is a delay in rev up.
SWOPED both MAP & TMAP sensors with new sensors (Connected to correct locations) NO start, might start if your lucky, with NO throttle response, misfire like mad
To me it all sounds like fuel delivery issue (Have changed fuel filter, new seals), new pump to filter hose, new aftermarket pump.
Only DTC is: (Excluding the TMAP/MAP when connected correctly)
1627: Alternator, load sensor – Input High. (Alternator does charge)
Any idees?
Because at this stage I’m thinking for ordering OEM 5.1bar fuel assembly, but have my doubts.
Any advice help will be appreciated.
