Project Shift Airbox

The E46 M3 airbox is currently fitted to Billybobs car.

It sounds AMAZING!

Unfortunately, we wont be posting pics yet.

The E46 M3 standard box is very restrictive and does not perform very well. The box is designed to optimize flow to each cylinder.
Each cylinder also has a velocity stack that protrudes into the airbox, we will be working on the length of the runners and stack size in order to squeeze out every last kw.

Options with the new box:

Alpha N software (Mafless)
Standard Software - Maf is used, no additional file is needed.
Performance software with MAF.

We will be dyno'ing the car this weekend to see performance gains.

The Prototype was installed in 2 hours, and the final box will be even quicker. There install was straight bolt on, except for where the MAF is retained, the wires are extended.

The NA airbox will include the following:

Psr Airbox (aluminium)
Choice of MAF or Alpha N
6 Silicone attachments
all necessary clamps
All piping for brake booster, idle control etc
Oil Catch can and lines

We will be developing an E36 M3 airbox once the E46 Box is complete.

Well, you KNOW I'm in... that's provided I don't just disappear with your prototype.

My hat, it sounds epic. I can't imagine it'd be good for fuel consumption - cause I'm using way larger throttle openings even in normal driving just to hear it..

Alex: Ive built an SC one as well, that will go on Jezebel.

Unfortunately I cant give Pricing yet, But I estimate in the region of 12k.

Won't work with Supercharger, as the supercharger is very big and the box extends out to where the charger sits... although, Burgy has also designed a modified version of this airbox for supercharged e46 M3's,,,

I've seen it, and my word its awesome. Obviously we'll start testing it as soon as we got the charger on Jezebel... And that will happen when she is back from LZ's shop.

if the Carbon Fiber can be done relatively cheaply i would just offer that as this is what most people will want and saving a little on this item will not make much difference given the retail price...

this will also allow you to push up volumes on the carbon work and possibly get a better price on it...

All I can say, with the amount of bloody emails I get about this box from the USA, all because of the video, and with the rand dollar exchange, you going to make a killing.
